I was listening to this soundtrack on the drive home, this evening. Honestly, this is one of the most underrated scores for an NES game. Amazingly moody, and not horribly repetitive!

We come from a different time...a better time, playing this until we look out and see the moon so bright, lighting up our bedrooms/living rooms while the family slept. The music for this game is pretty good overall, and it fits well with the dark gloomy atmosphere. It really gives you that sense of tension, dread, and fear of the unknown. And that fits the Vietnam war perfectly.

From my knowledge of looking at longplays and few buds that help name tracks, the song isn't in the game, but was in the C64 version which this version is based off of. But these are pretty grand tracks, Sunsoft and Naoki Kodaka in his beginning prime :)

Indeed, even if it differs from Naoki Kodaka's style, but as it says, the music was programmed by Akito Takeuchi, who is only known for programming music in this game. Still, he did a great job with Kodaka's music! :D

Thank you! I figured you would be able to fix the 6-note chord problem in the Stage 1 music. Or was that one of the major reasons why this was postponed?
@Nikos8BitStereo
10 жыл бұрын
Nope, I had no idea that has been a problem before with the soundtrack (NSF), this was postponed because the NSF file had included the expansion soundchips of VRC6, VRC7 & FDS, which is a false inclusion that some NSF files have, but I was able to fix that problem so any soundtrack that had that problem are out of the way. But glad to have it up now for people to enjoy! :)

@@Nikos8BitStereo Before you rerelease this video, try using an altered version of this track: /watch?v=7o9z0NOFqjA It's the slowed-down PAL version, but it doesn't have the chord cutting problem the NSF has.

@@JMein13074 Damn a follow up 7 years later, guess you've seen the revamps eh? Well there has been a large Re-ripping effort I mentioned in a major update video when announcing the revamp, only way I'd be able to use this fixed version is if it was ripped properly by either MrNorbert1994, Karmic or NewRisingSun who have been the main contributors to that lately at the Nesdev forums, which this game has been ripped with all its SFX and such so when it comes time to redo this, I'll see if the chord problem is fixed.
