Today we have for you a special culinary reminder reminiscent of childhood. Nowadays less and less popular, it used to be often eaten in homes and roadside eateries.

Our gluten-free and vegan version today, of course, has smoked tofu instead of bacon, and rice flour instead of wheat flour.

Quantity: 6 servings
Ingredients:
1 and 1/2 kg of potatoes
300 g smoked tofu
200 g white parts of Chinese cabbage leaves
100 ml of rice oil
4 tbsp. rice flour or rice flour mixed with potato flour
3 tbsp ground flaxseed
1 tbsp tamari soy sauce
1 tsp marjoram
2-3 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
1 teaspoon asafetida
Preparation:
Grate peeled potatoes on a fine-mesh grater or cut into coarse cubes and blend.
Cut tofu into small cubes, pour soy sauce, stir and fry in oil until browned.
While frying, we finely dice the white parts of Chinese cabbage leaves.
Add it to frying tofu with asafetida and fry all the time stirring until the cabbage is glazed.
Finally, we add the spices to fry in the fat for a while, which will release their aroma.
We combine the contents of the pan with the blended potatoes, mix thoroughly and add salt.
We add flaxseed, stir, and then add rice flour. However, when we use a mixture with potato flour, the mixture will have a better consistency. We mix the whole mixture once more and check if we need to add salt.
Put the mixture into baking pans greased with the rest of the oil and sprinkled with rice flour or lined with baking paper.
Put into the oven set at 180°C with thermo. Bake for about 1 hour, after which you can serve, for example, with sauerkraut, mushroom or tomato sauce.
Such a cake is allowed to set the next day, it can be cut well. Then we cut it into slices and fry it in a pan, which makes it even tastier.
