In the UK. I'm a HCP, I watch this for my own interest in getting information about a more natural health products. Pharmaceutical products seem to take a narrow view and not a holistic view of the body.

@@ajclark538 Hello, and welcome to our series on gut health, great to have you here! I'm curious, what is your area of specialty? We have a range of healthcare professionals tuning in, which is wonderful. I am preparing some presentations on natural health products for the summer - are there any specific topics you are interested in? We do have a playlist on Vitamins and Supplements that have been covered so far here on the channel as well in case you find it helpful.

@@FriendlyPharmacy5 I work in the pre hospital field with the care of the elderly doctors. Over the last few years, pre covid, when giving antibiotics I always gave a probiotic to help with controlling the diarrhoea and help the dignity of the elderly patient and help the care home staff in not having to clean patients up so frequently. It was a win win situation. So my interest in all things gut health goes back sometimes but I always thought there was more to know that would be beneficial to elderly patients and give them a better quality of life.

I just got to the section in the book where medications are mentioned as harmful to the microbiome. My question is how can one mitigate the effects of NSAIDS on the microbiome, if possible, with probiotics?

I believe there may have been a study where taking antibiotics with NSAIDS may be provided some protection, though I cannot recall the study at the moment. Great question.
