@eugenetswong

Maybe the solution is for some washrooms to allow women to have women-only washrooms, while the other washrooms are unisex. I'm thinking of stadiums and convention centres. The idea is that the guy won't want wait off at the side, while his wife has to wait in line. With so many people in the washroom on average, I think that most women, in there, will be safe. On the other hand, women can make a choice to go in the women's-only washroom. Single occupant washrooms can be unisex. Other washrooms should be strictly women's or men's.

As a woman, agreed. I often have gastro problems for whatever reason. I also often have a toddler with me. If I see a man in the women’s bathroom, I will wait for longer in a line/ bring a small portable potty. I’m not taking my chances with someone who would confidently walk into a woman’s space like that. That said, I would still choose the man over the bear in the woods.

But it’s not just “as a woman”…..the kink is always about sexiness, slutty dress, naughty school girl. You don’t ever see AGPs just wearing a pair of jeans or a nice dress.

Good conversation. But single-stall bathrooms are NOT a good argument to get rid of female bathrooms. And frankly ı cant blame men for not realising it, since woman’s needs are exclusive to women and wont be on a man’s radar, no matter how many body parts you chop off or what you are wearing. If you don’t menstruate; How could you know about the specific needs that come along? …. If you never had to ask for a tampon, or wash your bloody underwear in the sink (OUTSIDE OF THE STALLS ) or find a place to cry because your hormones are all over the place, what about menstrual cups ?….You need to wash these after you empty them. Bathroom stalls usually have no sink with water, so I find myself needing to exit the stall pants-down w/ tissue blocking the flow, with my hand covered in blood, holding a bloody cup and needing to rinse in the sink… that’s a moment I’d like to keep as private as possible and can laugh-off if seen by a woman …ı also happen to avoid stalls for a change of clothes as they tend to be tight and dirty spaces …. Bathrooms are places where women can hid from men that are chasing them (as Ive experienced multiple times at clubs) … And safety issues might be less habitual but nonetheless important. Woman have to pull their pants down to go to the bathroom and this makes us vulnerable even inside a stall ... My body goes into paralysis if I’m in a stall and suddenly hear a men’s voice in there. It could be completely harmless, but I still stay silent and still and wait for this man to be gone …. It’s just a natural response and can’t even imagine what it must be like for any victim of abuse …. The list goes on people.
@raina4732

Yes! Agree. I use a cup too and just the other day I had to clean it in the sink at a public place, it was a women’s room I was very happy. Women saw me washing it out and totally understood. I could not change my menstrual stuff if there are men by the sink, it would gross them out, embarrass me, and be so awful to do all of that in front of them. Even women who use tampons get blood on their fingers and have to wash it off and people see it who are using the sink by you! I would never change my menstrual stuff in public bathrooms again if it wasn’t a women’s only space.

Notice how they're always trying to argue that transgender women should get to access womens' spaces, but not that transgender men should get to access mens' spaces? The last time that I had this conversation, they were arguing that trans women should get to go into womens' sports and womens' homeless shelters for survivors of domestic violence. I think that generally speaking most women are "live and let live" but when a man demands that you accept them as a woman and their "rights as a woman", regardless of how it affects biological women, this is where I personally start to have major issues. Easily the most infuriating episode of spectrum street i ever hope to see. Both Peter and the guest seemed shockingly uninformed about gay people and willing to indulge in the most superstitious stereotypes about us. I found myself wanting to yell at Peter, No, gay men do not want to be women or think we are "really" women in some mystical Gnostic way; nor, for the most part, are we attracted to men who think they are or to young men who look and act like flat chested girls. Really nelly guys are usually mocked (behind their back, of course). What was most disappointing, however, was the lack of any attention to the really serious questions. Male rapists and child molesters housed in women's prisons after they announced for the first time at their sentencing hearings that they "identified"as female. Post pubescent boys competing in girls' athletics. Young men prancing around naked in the girls' changing rooms, and the authorities threatening disciplinary action in retaliation against girls who complain about it. The MAGA candidates have finally realized what an inflammatory culture war issue the radical trans ideologues have given them. If Trump is reelected, the (mostly straight) trans allies in the White House will be to blame

I agree. I was in the Old Vic theatre in London recently where there are 2 sets of toilets and the advice is that you use the one you are most comfortable with. Well one set has urinals (maybe a couple of stalls) and the others are stalls. Well the ones with the urinals clearly can't be used by women (try as I might, I've never got to grips with a "she wee"). I went to the other set of toilets and felt hugely uncomfortable with the presence of men (not transwomen) as they've come to these toilets for a sit down purpose. The guys there too looked a bit alarmed seeing women coming out. They had no desire to make women feel uncomfortable. This insistance by trans identifying males DEMANDING to use women's facilities just seems like they want women to feel uncomfortable. Ultimately, men, be kind! And keep your toilets clean! The Southwark theatre has the same thing going on but all the toilets there are just minging so I go before!

The difference in the two “types” is really easy to see, but Phil is not going to like my explanation of his. Regardless, it is 100% true (and demonstrated by his choice of attire): A. The first type is an intensive body dysmorphia taken to the absolute highest degree. It can affect males or females alike. It can come from different motivating factors- for example, a child who is being hurt and is in desperate need of a mental escape. This pain morphs into a deep desire to “become” the opposite sex. Because the problem stems from the brain and how it imagines itself better fitting into the real world, the process of treating this disorder can be very tricky and there is no ‘one size fits all’ pathway to healing. Also, as with other forms of body dysmorphia, once the patient “fixes” one problem as much as they decidedly can, their obsession often transfers to another body part they determine is “all wrong”. The more invasive cosmetic work you do, the more there will be TO do. And this cycle will continue until the money runs out, their body gives out, or the disease is properly confronted for what it is and the patient is ready to radically love and accept themselves just as they are. B. The second normally starts from an early and/or obsessive contact with viewing pornography and the subsequent sexual release it brings about. It tends to affect men far more than women because pornography trains the male brain in a fashion very similar to what we saw with Pavlov’s dogs. But what’s most affective is that this particular pattern of behavior can bring on a disassociate state- for a percentage of autogynephiles, this behavior can become very, very addictive. That is what makes this particular form of male-to-female ideation so problematic for society. For the men who are addicted to their “play”, they will continually escalate their behaviors. And just like any other addiction that feels “fuzzy and world-numbing” to the brain, it’s immensely hard for them to quit. It is far easier to excuse and justify it as being a part of who they are internally, rather than see it for the addiction that it is and address why they are craving this disassociation in the first place. Also, as with every addiction, the idea of learning to live without “their comfort” again is an automatic conversation-ender and they will go to extreme lengths to continue their behavior unabated. The arc of this obsession typically starts with the man just imagining themselves in “particular” gear/dress, with this fantasy generating their desired outcome (sexual release). For awhile, it is enough. It is achieved very easily and can be done in secret. But as the dopamine hits wear off faster and faster, and as the urge to repeat and enhance the experience gets stronger and stronger, it only leads one way. If they have a partner, they will eventually bring them into it. Then they will push to exercised their desires in public. The need to bring other in to their “play” will continue to advance, often at the expense of their own family and children. The more they engage in these behaviors, the further they will strive to “make it even better”. This can spur the desire for body modifications and/or presenting in some type of feminine form most (if not all) of the time. And God-forbid anyone try to prevent them from doing so! A person who doesn’t play along with their role-play causes a rift in the dissociation. It pulls them out of the detached/play state they are enjoying. This would be akin to suddenly giving a person high on heroin a shot of Narcan. The sudden smack of reality is deeply uncomfortable-you have essentially ripped away the fuzzy, warm blanket that was enveloping their mind! And in one fell swoop! This is why you see ripped out of their imagined role play getting very angry when confronted for being in a single-sex space they don’t belong; or even when confronted with something as benign as a server addressing them with “sir” instead of “ma’am.” It is the rush back to reality that makes them indignant. They lose the dissociative “high” on which they were coasting. Finally, just like any other addiction, it rarely ends well. Very few men can find a “stability” to how they will enjoy their fix in a non-intrusive way that still respects others around them. Most will not be able to control their desire to push their addiction to further and further extremes- for example, the men trying to breastfeed babies, or the ones insisting their children address them as mom and give them all honors therefore due a mother. There is also the example of Mr. Tickle who is suing a women’s app for daring to create a female only space and telling him, “no,” he may not participate. Or even this gentleman you are interviewing who intentionally chose to wear female clothing with a female-appearing chest, but pointedly, without the female gear any other self-respecting woman would wear. The in-your-face aggressive sexuality of his outfit, sans sports bra, is part of his “play”, as is his ability to force others to partake in it with him. He didn’t care if people in the public wanted to be exposed to his immodesty, as behaving in this fashion is part of his addiction. Like I said above, these addicts can not control their cravings. The more they are appeased in one area, the more they will demand in another. 🤷🏽♀️ Neither makes you a “bad person”, but the 2nd form MUST come with strict boundaries. (Edited to see if this was removed yet. You know honesty is encouraged on this app anymore.)

I’m glad I read to the end. I had to leave the video halfway through earlier and was pondering. I’m glad someone else has similar thoughts to mine. The first type you mentioned though, 😅 without going into much detail here, it hits home. Not for me personally, but something I’ve witnessed and been a part of. I wish I could travel back in time and do things differently, but I think it’s a product of upbringing. A case of the adults being just as bad as the kids. And now, a couple decades or more later, I feel like I’m doing a clean up job so it won’t affect my own kids. It’s impossible to know, however, what’s an overcorrection that could lead to the next mass trauma. You’re 1000% correct in my opinion.

Transvestite - Auto gynophile - a man who gets sexually aroused by dressing as a woman, usually heterosexuals... fetishes are overwhelmingly a male thing. Transexual - gay guy in drag Transgenderism is a concept that one could be born in the wrong body. It steals from the intersex / DSD experience (gender dysphoria etc) to make arguments they don't have. To their first question I might argue there are 3 kinds of 'trans'. The latter being more of a dangerous, reality denying, biology denying cult that preys upon vulnerable youth and adults such as autistic and gay youth and victims of sexual abuse and bullying.

People should be able to wear what they want to wear, but if an autogynephilic male wears a particularly flamboyant, typically female garment to a feminist conference there is probably going to be an issue? It's not a garment thing. It's a respect thing. The autogynephelic person knows when they're being blatantly disrespectful whether the other attendees do or not. Maybe I'm being Mr. Literal Man here, but if autogynephilia is an internalized variation of a sexual orientation, then why does an autogynephile have to live as a woman? If it is a sexual orientation and not a fetish, then why does it need to be "performed" in a way so that some women feel they are being forced to participate in a man's sexual activity (I'm not sold on the idea that an autogynephile's presence around women when he's not trying to seduce a woman counts as something requiring consent)? It seems to me most autogynephile behavior exists inside a man's imagination.

As a transsexual and licensed therapist, I enjoy these discussions. The rationality and the practicality surrounding this topic I generally agree with our ability to be free. What I do not see taken into the discussion is the lack of reason with mental health and the validity of the need to find congruencey with your body as a transsexual. You enter bathrooms with people who have anxiety and depression with varying degrees of severity. That does not make them a threat to someone in the bathroom. The same can be said for schizophrenics. Less than one percent of schizophrenics are a threat to others, even when in psychosis. To characterize gender dysphoria in a way that mental health in the bathroom is dangerous isn't a genuine statement. I am a female genetically and present as a male. I pass. If you saw me on the street, you would not question your perception of me as a male. That is the point of transition, to be perceived as the opposite gender. I have been using the mens restroom for over 14 years. Should I stop that practice now? Millions upon millions of people have been using the restroom with transsexual people with ne'er a clue. This bathroom issue wasn't an issue until trans advocacy (ideology) shoved its way into politics. This was a discussion in the transsexual world during early transition and when individuals received social clues on how they were perceived and would NOT draw attention to themselves. There was none of this trans ideology narcissism.

It's a massive blunder that our society strives for equality in discrimination. We discriminate women from men in bathrooms because it's practically useful to address the very common SA on women by men. There's no reason that because we are discriminating against men (not allowed in that space) that we should equally discriminate against women (not allowed in men's space), as it provides no functional purpose and actually creates problems. Blair should not be in women bathrooms but men's bathrooms shouldn't really exist to begin with so Blair using the unisex bathroom would be completely socially acceptable which would realistically massively reduce the amount of attention Blair would currently get with using men's only bathrooms. Not a dissimilar scenario from applying additional racial discrimination to groups just to attempt to have equality of racism despite it having no functional purpose and in fact harms society with more unnecessary racial prejudice that leads to poorly justified decision making.

I guess the issue is those horror stories type scenarios, where late at night, a girl goes along to the bathroom in the subway with the flashing neon lights, and a bunch of gangsters with face paint go in right after... but in that scenario they would go in no mater the sign on the door, as long as it was unlocked. What does "behaviourally gay" mean? The only "gay behaviour" is sexual. Are you conflating homosexuality with effeminacy? In a philosophical conversation, I would expect a bit more precision and less casual stereotyping.

@@bepitan False. Peter is an extreme libertarian, and the other dude has AGP. This isn't even close to a representative sample of opinions.
