Thanks for videos. Im a chinese, so maybe I can explain why there is a moon inside the lung in this kanji 肺. The left part of kanji 肺 actually is ⺼, similar to 月. ⺼ is not used anymore nowadays. It means flesh, and that why it's used with kanji related to human organs.

Thank you so much for this video! It's was a big help to me :) I recently started learning more in this way and it's great when you come across a kaji you've never seen before, but atleast you have somewhere to start if you recognize a part. Thank you!!!

The best way to learn Kanji is to absorb them, study a certain amount a day, and then reach read a dictionary with the english meanings.

Hi. Thank s for the help. Please allow me to share some ideas. Do you agree that would be easier and more effective to ocidentals learn kanji as part of one word. Listen, see, read and speak. Do you agree that the caligraphic effort takes a lot of time and actually is not so necessary. Don t get me wrong ok. Just findind a better way to learn. Thank s for your time.

This was a ridiculously helpful video. I don't know kanji but I know how to write phonetically and it helps to learn. Also having mnemonic devices like "のう don't take my brain!" helps people like me remember "脳" Another one I like "け looks like LT in BLT and け is Ke because BLTs are okay!". I think it's really awesome to have videos like this, that give really awesome insight into the language. Not just exact studies!

肝臓 means liver in Enlish :) Also, what you referred to in this video is called learning kanji by its radicals. I def. Think in important to keep that in mind when learning kanji. I mostly learn kanji in context with vocabulary. It is fun to notice and recognize the radicals that make up kanji as I learn new words. I also think it makes them easier to remember :)

So basically every sentence or word has to be determined by the form of the kanji and by his contexts. How cool is that

I recently began studying the Japanese language; it amazes me how you write hiragana and kanji so fast! I just started so obviously I take a while to write kana but I'm working hard so one day I will write as smoothly as you.

@Shadowfury Oh, yes. That's what I wanted to hear about those two kanji. I'm odd for not using any dictionaries before asking. The question was about wayo and na and how they sound weird together in one person's speech.

@jp10IamMeNotU Heh, thanks for correcting me. I am very bad at kanji and you changed the first sentence too. Was my version incorrect or just ruder? Then is there a bigger difference between hansha suru and hanshou suru? Or are they just plain different? :D I see why you changed な to ね, I didn't know that's considered that rude.

3:58 Interesting that 川 and 河 both means river, only that 河 has a slightly different meaning. Another example I know is みる that can be 見る and 観る, both meaning "to see", but I believe 観る is only related to watching TV or movies, and that actually means "to watch".

I get what you are saying -- not to memorize. More examples are needed, like sanzui and kin.

Usually one part of the kanji is based on the 音読み. In this case 氏 is pronounced シ, and the 音読み of 紙 is also シ. It's actually a really common pattern

That's what I was doing, am doing, memorizing hundreds of kanji. :( I don't know of any books that teach learning kanji in that way. If you know any please let me know.

Aren't you susceptible to being exploited if you are too generous?
What a poopie and archaic language! It's ancient and never has changed... That makes it outdated! I love English so much because of it's brilliance, how it was created to be highly adaptable and evolve with time! Even most Japanese don't fully understand kanji...

Just Passing Through you are stupid. People think what they grow up with makes sense. It the only reason why English is brilliant to you. Stop being ignorant dumbass
