The goal of the exercise/drill is to practice receiving the ball from a striker, who decides whether the ball will wall-pass the ball back at the player in the depths of the field, hold it and rotate with it, or one touch pass with one of the players on the sides/wides. Players prepare the space for the pre-final and final pass with a simple combination, which takes place in the area just before the edge of the penalty area. In the exercise, players must focus primarily on the timing of the running and ground passes. We must also pay attention to the correct position of the body and a quality first touch.
The finishing player shoots with the first or second touch. They should not give the defending players room to approach the finishing player in good time.
The exercise is designed for 5-6 field players and 1-2 goalkeepers. The exercise is suitable for group training of attackers and offensive midfielders.
