This is why I can't stand people that judge people like Debra so harshly. If you grew up your entire life being abused and injecting drugs at 12 what chance do you have?! These beautiful souls judge themselves enough, we don't need to add to it. Thank you for doing these interviews!

She needed a longer interview! I just loved listening to her. I can’t imagine any child living like she did - I want to say it’s a horror story not her childhood. Who allows this? What kind of neighbors , teachers, store clerks, pastors, friends, relatives allow a child to grow up like this ?! In America?! And we call other countries shitholes and 3rd world?! Wtf

I actually think it's important to capture people at all points of life, whether it be the low points or the points of recovery. I don't think it gives the full picture to only give attention to the people who came out of drug addiction because seeing people in the depths of addiction is incredibly eye-opening for the viewer too. It's not pretty but it's imperative not to sugarcoat the reality of all these victims.

Not a single person on this planet doesnt aspire to be an addict. Addiction is a disease. People need to stop judging people so harshly. If you want to judge someone judge our mental health care system, judge those who were nasty to these people.
@bonniebunny25
4 жыл бұрын
Agree. It’s hard seeing people being judgmental. When you say addiction is a disease, what is meant by that? Because I hear it a lot. Could some people be more biologically inclined to respond to trauma via addiction? Maybe, don’t know, need to research it. The way I see it, addiction is a response to trauma. It’s avoidance of pain. It’s an escape. And we are all capable of doing it. The point where I see addiction as a disease is when the addiction has spiraled out of control to a point where one ends up like the lady subject in this video. But I don’t see addiction as a disease that you catch. With that said, people with addiction are in pain and are suffering and we should treat them with compassion first and foremost.

I am seriously struggling atm and have never been in such dire straights,it is killing me and as much as i want to stop the crack and desperately want to as i deteriorate rapidly infront of my very eyes,it is fucking my head up big time but i don't care about any of that,i just want to be clean. It distorts your view of people and society and life in general. It is a vicious drug. I hope you read this as i would like to speak to you if possible.
