Totally agree about education systems. They try to label kids at such a young age, and those labels are bullshit. Early on, I was told my son would always need "special education" just bc he had a speech delay. They labeled him developmentally delayed like he was doomed. But I wasn't buying it. Fast forward some years - intellectually gifted program, honors courses, top marks - he's killing it! So in life, I say fight the labels and anyone who tries to stick you in some bullshit box crafted by them. ✊️ They can't limit you.

Thank you Ren.. even though you have been through so much, unselfishly you have continued to push on and through the door, opening it wide..encouraging others to go for the ride…through your musical talent and lyricism, as well as your inspirational soul baring and mantras.. I literally am going through massive issues right now and you keep showing up in my face and make me believe I can last another day.. when you speak maybe everyone doesn’t get it or even listen, but the people who really need to hear you we do.. Thank you so much from a NYC RN who appreciates all you do for us..with love and thanks.. and even though neither of us are big believers in religion I acknowledge the religion of kindness and service to your fellow man..Please feel better soon! ♥️Bel xx

It was like being in the football leagues. You could be promoted or relegated. I was relegated from A form for getting caught smoking, in uniform, by the wag man (truant officer, America). It did nothing for my education, but it put me in the classes with my slacker friends😅. Like Ren, most of my advanced learning came after I'd finished school. At 68 years old I can attest to the fact that you are never to old to learn. Example, my mum left school at 15, married at 18, had 7 children and then in the early 1960s got a degree in education at nearly 40 years old. In her late 50s she got a BA in drafting and at 70+ got a Masters in German and music. Apply yourself and you can achieve your goals...except for me and maths. My brain isn't wired that way. English is my love; comprehension, grammar, spelling, etc. It's just easy for me to visual words. Maths, on the other hand, my brain melts.😊😅😂

Yass! Thank you! I went through school believing I was stupid because that's how my "teachers" treated me. It wasn't until I dropped out and eventually took a GED test without any prep and scored in the 95th percentile that I realized I wasn't. I then thought, I wonder if I can learn rocket science? Guess what I did? 😉 yup I now know rocket science 😁

The school system of grading existed in the 1950s.You're right, if you really yearn to achieve something you'll go for it.A bit of luck can be handy too.

Ren, why don't you do a degree course in developmental psychology 😁? Every word of that vlig entry is true & I can relate to it! I was in the bottom grade throughout school & I left with NO qualifications. As a mature student I returned to adult learning & achieved a string of quals incl: catering, business marketing, accounting, computing & finaly teaching quals to allow me to teach anyone in the 16+ age groups. So, I aint done too bad for a thicko from a broken home 😉🙂

I would think as long as you are alive and growing... Then anything can change... Like if you put on a wedding ring at 40 and notice at 50 your finger is deformed with a permanent indentation... Clearly you have the capacity to change. I love that you said this though, the part about habit building... I've read many things on that. It's true. Big changes and goals are overwhelming. You just start small. Not only does every little thing ACTUALY truly add up... But each completed task or met goal... Gives you a little boost in confidence and mood, helps you feel like you are accomplishing things which in turn fuels you to tackle ANOTHER. So on and so forth. ❤

You're so right about the eduction system. When I was 12 (fecking 44 years ago now) they lost my math exam results and stuck me bizarrely in set 1 while they sorted it out. In two weeks in set 1 I got two questions wrong (pretty good average) they found my results and put me in set 3 where I belonged. It took me another two weeks to earn a demotion into set 4 because I got so bored I acted like an arse. x

This is great, exactly what I've brought my kids up to believe. Now all 3 of them live in different countries, living life first, laughter/love second and work just to fund 1st and 2nd. They all say they have been grouchy up to know life isn't restricted, it's what you want it to be. Sending this to them now... tar Ren!
