Hi, Ren. Have never posted a comment online before but want you to know I respect you for being so open. My father died this past Christmas and my sister suffered a stroke a month later. Like you, I have had bouts of depression all my life, but right now is the worst it has ever been . I know Life WILL get better, especially once the Spring weather kicks in, but, for the moment, my grief, anxiety and depression are at an all-time high. Want you to know how much of a bright spot both your music and attitude have become for me right now. Please know I am sending you best wishes and prayers.

Exercise and sleep are 2 of the most important things for mental health. In Todays society it is often the nice people who are struggling now. Theres no rush, keep continuing to make positive changes in your immediate surroundings. Break the daily habits no longer serving you im not sure if you drink or do drugs but if so try and cut down the body is the temple once you treat your body right your mind and mentality quickly follows. You guys are really talented everyone is a little extra anxious at the moment. The world needs you and sometimes when you embrace your fears new worlds emerge. Sometimes the best start is to open the front door go for a walk and do something new. x

It sucks to tell people who have chemical imbalances that sleep and exercise are the cure all. I’m glad they worked for you, but your experience isn’t everyone’s experience. Your source of depression and anxiety aren’t the same as everyone else’s. Please stop telling people it’s *just* a matter of this or that. You have no idea about anyone but yourself.

Hi Ren. I just saw this post today. I see its from 2 years ago, but maybe u still peruse the post. I know u get ALOT of comments, and I hope they are all positive ones. ...mine is to add another positive one that helps - i hope. Its easy for ME to say things to u like, " it will get better", or, "hang in there", but those are kind blanket statements because nobody know how YOU truly feel inside, but you. So, I will say this, I am a person that can tell a true, genuine, down to earth person - and thats u. I respect and admire ur power in letting out ur frustrations/illness/mental health into the virtual world. That doesn't mean u still dont have inner demons. If you ever want/need an unbiased proverbial shoulder to lean on/vent to I am offering mine. Keep in kind I dont offer - unless I want to. I wish you the best moving forward physically/mentally/monetarily; because YOU deserve it all. My last words are that sometimes it takes a village. That means you have a support system of TRUE fans of urs - let them be there whenever u feel the proverbial walls caving in. Humbly writing, Tazzz. 😏

Thank you Ren, I needed this today as well. Funny, I emailed The Big Push earlier with a little something regarding my current state of mind, then stumbled upon this video. I too have suffered for longer than I care to remember, and when you can't pinpoint a cause or reason it seems harder every time. I recently, accidentally, stumbled upon something that I soon realised was a trigger, something I hadn't handled and boxed away. Faced it head on and found peace and closure with it. I consider myself lucky to have realised and dealt with it. There are many reasons to be alive right now, even in this shit show, yours and your boys music being one of them. Keep on with the honest, humble and very talented performances, I predict big things for The Big Push and Sam too 👊🏻👊🏻

Very true Ren. Everything passes eventually, nothing stays the same, peaks & trough's etc. This too will pass someone once said to me & they were right of course. The trick is trying to make the good days more numerous than the bad day's - I haven't mastered that one yet but I haven't given up hope that one day I might do & it's hope that keeps us getting out of bed each day. Anyway, thanks for a great video of encouragement. Im sure you'v made a difference & that's the most beautiful thing you can do with your influence is making a difference to other people's lives.

Here's 2 funny stories about dealing with my own mental health issues. I was so stuck in my down mood one day. I was telling my therapist how horrible my life was and crying. She says to me "it could always be worse". I said I don't know how and left. The next day I broke my foot. Lol. Another time when I was younger I was sitting in my car talking to a co worker and was suicidal...balling as I talked. I look up outside of my car on the railroad tracks right infront of my car is a giant wild turkey just standing there. This was at a gym parking lot down by a river. We were in a very busy down town area. No clue where it came from. I bust out laughing and this huge 4 ft tall turkey starts running down the tracks. I yell as I'm laughing look he's suicidal too. Wish I would've had a camera that day. Depression, anxiety, PTSD and so forth all sucks and can be debilitating. Thank god I've had great therapists and have found great coping skills that work for me. If someone's interested in things that work for me I'm willing to share just let me know. I've learned this too shall pass. I've been dealing with it since I was a child. When I was 30 everything in my life was working. I had my dream job. I loved my life for the first time. I was on the right med mix and I was able to teach others what was helping me. Seeing others grow and change for the positive is one of the most meaningful things I've been lucky enough to see in my life. Unfortunately after about 10yrs the meds stopped working. I lost my job and had to start over. I learn so much when I fall that it's worth it. Miss my dream job though. I got a simple ring and necklace made that says "This too shall pass" on them as a reminder. When you are down and having a really hard time just getting out of bed it's hard to remember what you need to tell yourself. It's a process. It reminds me of seasons changing..there is is winter which is when nature is is darker and the sun goes down earlier, then spring when things start to brighten and nature buds in a new beginning. Then summer when everything blooms and our days are brighter. Then fall as things start to die and get colder. Struggling is normal..some struggle more than others and it's ok to have bad days. We are human..we are warriors. If you are in a bad place in your head please seek help even if it's an anonymous hotline. Sometimes just talking, bitching, crying etc can help. If it doesn't check yourself into the hospital for a couple day if you need to. If you can get through it, the other side gets better eventually. There were years at a time I had to fight through, but eventually I'd come out of it ok for a while. As I've gotten older I deal with it less thank god. Hope you all are hanging in there. Thanks for being real with us Ren.

Different videos of yours keep popping into my view. & I know there is someone reading these comments as well. Ren you are a Miracle. As I am & them. My dark journey brought me to embracing my 'other selves', some younger, different genders, stronger or weaker. This 'tool' created for survival. A GIFT of Imagining. Some panic & anxiety times as scared young children. My nurturing compassionate self invited them to come into my arms, I snuggled them into my heart space. It didn't matter what brought them there. Only that they were 1st comforted & then encouraged to go back out there & play ! 😁 And sometimes my friend, we just cried together.

Love your work, your art, and your poetry in your Lyrics is incredible, relatable and unforgettable. The artistic videos around Brighton town you produce are sublime, moving and show life as it truly is. I only found you recently and I see you as what I have been calling you, "The Picasso of Rock and Roll." A man who suffered and from the depths of his despair he produced visual, artistic magic. He is today appreciated world wide as the best artist possibly ever to have lived. You can feel and see his pain in his work. He saw the world from a different plane of existence and it's there for all to see. I sense that you are in the same mould man, and people young and older get you, relate to you and are moved by your art. Stay strong Ren. You know I'm in a musician myself and it's weird. I mean this is weird how your music transcends like Any Kind of label it to be put. On it or age group and I think you're truly a genius man and. You see like A really great bloke I'm from America? Did I use that right anyways? It's cool that you. I don't know that sometimes you're my only friend. Dude I'm going to some s*** myself dude and I've been struggling with drug abuse all my life. Nothing compared to what you've been through but no I had a hard twenties. When I was in my twenties and it's followed me up and now. I'm 49 and I'm gonna go to a doctor for 5 years. I haven't had any kind of pain pills in 5 years but the house I was taking 20 to 25 Hydrocodone's at A time. And uh. It took me to have a bag of heroin and some needle and I was 5 seconds away from shooting God knows how much hair went into my veins. I had no idea what I was doing and I probably wouldn't be here today. I really feel a divine intervention. Happened I had the all ready and stuff and then I just fell to my knees and I wept was in the federal position and then I found a doctor I put a Google how to quit opiates and 3 days later. I was in his office and I haven't had an appeal since and I'll never touch him again. But I do struggle with severe anxiety I have been prescribed xanax and And Koalas and I still get the anxiety man so. I think your advice is right. It's just like you see how to make it through it man so thanks for being so honest dude sometimes. I feel like you're my only friend dude I put. I have a channel and I put music on there. I'll be honored if you would ever look at some of it. I'm playing guitar all my life if not understand you're busy man but that's what you're doing and you're a great guy in my eyes
