I like these new moss poles. Fern from Wildfern uses something real similar to this one. Thanks for sharing.

If you push the pole towards the back of the pot the rounded backside of the pole will fit flush then you'll have more room for plant roots in the front portion of the pot 😊

I think I’m so used to my poles I center them in the pot, does having it not be centered cause them to get unsteady as they get taller?
@joannanovara815

@@plantsbymelissa I would think if anything the back of the pot would keep it steadier? Also, do you feel the thin plastic is pretty sturdy or needs a stake down in there for extra stability? I've had to do that with mesh poles sometimes
@kyrad6543

That's exactly why I bought these because they have a rounded side that can sit on one side of the pot to make it more steady.

I would definitely try to put the pole up against the edge of the pot because it provides support, otherwise it just wiggles around a lot more when it sits in the center with nothing to lean on 👍

I zip tie mine to the pot and helps stability tremendously!

Maybe it’s supposed to be mixed in water and watered into the plant. The myccorizae I mean.

Another informative video, I like learning about the new products and new methods that you introduce. The new pole looks well designed and nicely functional. Congrats on your sunny day, up here in New Hampshire most people are celebrating finally getting enough rain to end our drought. I’m looking for a monsterra but I’m not sure what varieties to focus on. It needs to be on the small side as space is at a premium for me. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks again.

Thank you! Been enjoying the sun here lately! 😍 I've been enjoying my monstera siltepecana lately! I have it going up a moss pole and it's been growing really fast. The leaves stay relatively small unless you have it climb it can eventually fenestrate. The standleyana is nice because it doesn't grow as fast and stays more compact. The white parts tend to brown more easily though :)

of you don’t mind me asking….how much was the spagnum? I have a hard time finding that and I don’t want to use anything but the new zealand. is the 5 piece moss pole price for just one pole? or is for 5 actual poles?

Nope! I don’t have a reason other than just the grow lights keeping it warm. It’s a lot of lights in here 🙈

Use clear clips to clip the plant onto the pole. You can get 100 for something like $5.99. Look for tiny, clear hair clips. They done have the butterfly on them. Just clear clips.

They tend to pinch my vines especially as they grow and get thicker :) I found some clear grafting tape on amazon and I used that for some new ones I made yesterday!

I just bought some of these poles today and came across your video. That's definitely standleyana albo. Regular standleyana doesn't have any speckles at all. I had trouble getting that plant to root. So you must have a magic touch!

Hey Melissa, very interesting poles. I think I'm going to try them. Also get a oscillating fan for the room. I always have a fan running to move the air; no problems with my plants. Good job repotting. Tfs.

This looks so good😍 Question, u said that ur plant room get so hot... U don't open the windows so the room can air out?
@plantsbymelissa
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I leave my door open so air gets in too but I don't usually open the windows and I have a fan circulating up top. This part of the house is south facing so it's a bit warmer than the rest of the house anyway but definitely all the grow lights are making it really warm in there all the time 🙃

My money plant, snake and peace lily luvs it 😍 I also have a Red Maranta. I luv her so much but I think she's mad at me. I could touch her at 1 point til I trim her 2 trim the brown edges and I broke out in lil bumps all over my chest and arms. Had 2 take benadryl 4 it but as of now I'm afraid 2 touch her. Have u heard of anyone that had a allergic reaction like the way it happened 2 me?
