you're right in some ways but in the RM you tend to not get actually shouted at, it's normally just a quiet word with you or the instructor having a bite at you, they learnt if you shout at the recruits like on films then they'll just go "what's the point?" and leave, but it happens on serious stuff like this. but apart from that you're very right, depends on what the bosses are like

I'm in the Canadian Armed Forces. We call it getting beasted 'getting Jacked Up'. And getting jacked up is no fun. Two notable incidents I remember of getting jacked up from my BMQ days. One time our ten squad machine guns assigned out between five sections of the course, the spare barrels got mixed up with the other sections. Recruits from all five section sections had to sit in the rocking boat pose in a circle, passing the machine gun parts around until the serial #s matched. Another moment of getting jacked up was doing the 'Day in an Hour' *shivers*

Dumb thing for that narcissist liar to say. There will always people who wanna go to war whether for reasons you agree with or not. Einstein was German Jewish and fled Nazi Germany and I'm sure he wouldn't have wanted all the people who died destroying Nazi Germany to have refused to go to war as it would have resulted in the annihilation of his race and him eventually of course cause if no American infantryman wanted to fight then the Nazis would have just walked in and gassed him. If he truly said that it makes me dislike him even more.

@mebecallum Well i think its more a case of, breathing through a restricted air flow, WHILE running (which normally requires max air flow to stop a build up of lactic acid) WHILE also carrying combat webbing, a weapon, etc which would trigger your body to demand even MORE air, also on uneven, possibly soft ground as well... Having done CqC in restricting body armour i can say its a horrible feeling to have your ability to breath restricted when you want to breath more....
