I've never minded! I'm grateful to have anybody who likes and looks forward to these videos, it's seriously really cool to me, and is enough to keep me motivated to make more! I'm almost done editing the audio for the next video, then it'll just be putting all the video clips together. The only reason these videos take awhile to come out is due to how invested I am in university at the moment, and that when I do have free time that usually goes to working on my own game. Thanks for the kind words! I always appreciate it.

I really appreciate the kind words! I'm actually majoring in Computer Science and plan on taking a lot of electives related to game development (Graphics, Game Technology, Software Engineering, all that jazz). The major is the big reason these videos take half a year to come out, because the workload for it is really heavy and I'd love to ace as many things as possible so I can really understand and apply the material I learn or go on to get an MS afterwards. The big reason I make these videos is because it let's me analyze games I've played a good amount of more deeply and find out the things I really like about them and try to think from the stand point of a developer or designer, although I still have awhile to go before I master that as I'm still just a beginner. The jokes are mainly there because I write these reviews with Tropics, and we generally like trying to write stuff to make each other laugh. In fact usually I'll upload halfway completed versions of the reviews privately so we can watch them and make changes that we think might make certain parts more entertaining or funny. I think it helps a lot to have other people working with you, especially when writing any sort of humor because you get immediate feedback based on if it made the person laugh or not. I'm happy you like the music also! Sometimes I feel like it might not be worth it to produce all this music just for these silly videos but I actually do think they add a nice charm to them. At some point I should really compile the songs and put them on an album on Bandcamp or something.

Dude that's freaking awesome! Both of us have actually been working a lot on getting to the point of making our own games (working on music production, programming, art, etc.). I've been working a lot with Love2D as of recently and I'm slowly trying to develop my own game. I've started to pick up C++ in the meantime because in itself it is a good langauge for games, but I'm also really interested in making homebrew for the likes of the Wii U/3DS. Hoping to get into more 3D stuff soon though so I can work on a more 2.5D (Similar to the DS pokemon games) type of thing. Also, I'd actually hella love to do something similar to this just as in terms of finding out what we appreciate about a game or a few games. That's fucking cool you get to go to college for that type of stuff, we're just teaching ourselves over here for the most part heh, but it's been working out. Also that's fucking beautiful it's always awesome to have other people to work on this type of stuff with. I think part of it is yeah you have someone to bounce the idea of immediately, but with that type of thing (at least for me) it's also like that dynamic of just trying to make each other laugh the whole time it's awesome and you usually come up with shit better than you usually would. Hadn't really thought of that though def good to keep in mind ^_^. And LEGITMATELY THOUGH PLEASE PUT THE SONGS UP ON BANDCAMP I'LL FUCKING BUY THEM YOU WATCH.

I still want to try some other content with games that's less taxing on my time so I can give you guys some actual content. I noticed a lot of people pouring into the channel (not sure where everybody is coming from), and it's actually really good timing because I've been really in the mood to make content recently, and once this package I'm waiting for finally gets here I can start working on it! I wasnt even a 90s kid and I was tricked by Sonic. Growing up I played The 3D sonic games and in the late 00s I got my first touch screen phone, and Sonic was there in the game store. Well Green Hill Zone was awesome, it took me quite a few tries to beat the boss because of the bad touch controls and cheap early phone, but I was looking forward to more high speed action, and then i finally beat the boss and was rewarded with Marble Zone... I beat Act 1 and 2 a handful of times but never got to the Act 3 boss because of those touch controls.

I remember playing Sonic 1 as a kid and thinking that it sucked. I played Green Hill Zone and was like "Fucking shit the level is just flying by why bother programing it in? The game is playing itself with these springs that shoot you through 3 loop de loops! When do I get to platforming?" and then Marble Zone came after it and it was just a bunch of sub par slow ass platforming that I just gave up and went back to Super Mario World. Yeah I was a Nintendo fanboy at the time but I played the shit out of Moonwalker and thought it was awesome so it wasn't like my 7 year old standards were high.

Aw, fuck yes. More videos. Was expecting something a bit more obscure based on your other stuff. Not that fucking Star Fox and Kirby are obscure, but the way you did it was definitely a breath of fresh air compared to the average KZitemr who just splooges all over that shit without giving legit reasons why, not to mention completely glossing over whatever flaws there are. I pretty much agree with everything you said. First Sonic isn't all that great. Even in the fast levels, enemies and obstacles are often placed so that you'll have only a few milliseconds to react to them, since the screen doesn't scroll to the right. Sonic's base speed is also really fucking slow and that makes it frustrating when you go from lightspeed to 0. But, getting hit mostly costs time, so I guess you could argue it's very forgiving. Sonic 2 is fucking amazing though and I'm looking forward to your video on that.

If one really wanted to, one could see a bigger picture. A good example of this is Golden Axe Warrior , which plays like a Legend of Zelda clone, except that it has janky hitboxes all over the place. Which makes it a weird game, because Zelda didn't have those janky hitboxes, and it makes it a worse game. The same picture can be seen on the Megadrive itself: Most games use the default sound setup, which isn't a good use of the Yamachip inside. Sure it creates a big gulf between the games with actual audio engineering behind them like Sonic, but it makes the average game look worse. I think this reflects as SEGA as a whole. Their whole history is like that. The no leg day guy used as a example is basically spot on.

Isn't the monetization system not that great though? I feel like with the audience I have I wouldn't really get any money from it. Plus, I think that could get me in some hot water with copyright stuff. While I'm sure not many people would care that I used a couple seconds of their video in a small project for fun like this, but if I start making money off of that content I can eventually see somebody not having it and filing a claim.
