I cannot even begin to imagine how rewarding it must be to have this kind of passion as your actual job. Good luck to the man and his wonderful craft.

to those that are judging his skill, he still makes a better knife than either you or I can so sit down and appreciate his craftwork. I think that is a beautiful knife and he obviously loves his work

I believe these videos are a true help and inspiration to craftsmen all around. Do I believe industrial knives are shit? Yes, I do. I have to sharpen my knives on a weekly basis on a stone, and that's fun because I like it, but I shouldn't be doing all this grinding (pun intended) so often. And it's not just that the steel is bad quality, the thing is I can't afford major quality knives made of non-stainless carbon steel. I'm not a samurai. But regardless (and my opinion counts for shit), I think It's VERY important to support small craftspeople and their small businesses. Not because I'm against the Big Bad Wolf of Industry or Capitalism, but because those people provide us with that extra edge of quality and also humanity in their work that we never get from industrial products. It's not just because humans are as plentiful as ants these days that we should start acting like ants and forget we're individuals and that a single person's work really matters. And, in the end, what Michel said.

The guy is cutting sheet metal with a angle grinder and hammering it to make a patine. Sure the knives look good, but this is not old school knife forging technique.

Maybe it not done in the old way but it is still better than any knife you are likely to see.

oh please, there are so many really good knives made in the factory, henckels, global and etc. And plus there are many hand forged knives coming in from japan

Having had the first hand pleasure of using one of wills knives belonging to a friend I can attest to the quality, so much better than my henkels, lo shen and wustoffs and better than the globals and shuns I've used although personally I don't like globals. I'm sat laughing at the negative comments come on what you expecting it hand forged? It's grade A Sheffield steel good luck finding a supply of that. Yes there are other great knife makers out there it's not a competition.

Of course, they don't show the actual tomato drop. We get to see it drop on the regular knife, but not on the product being promoted. Just dumb, slow-motion closeups.

A nice guy but his skill is way over rated there are hundreds of knife makers in England with equal if not better skill than him sorry

What's your point? His skill level is pretty much as high as it gets. Of course there are lots of other talented knife makers, it's not a competition. It's marketing.
