@Ionstorm2002
6 күн бұрын
@@jonhappleseed8144 Where did you pull that number of people from? Yes some think the world is only 6,000 years old but the truth is we don't know how old the world actually is. Carbon dating is the most unreliable method of dating and has been proven to overshoot the age of an object. One such example was of a religious artifact that had a recorded age. The carbon dating gave an age several thousand years older than it actually was. Several other artifacts of a given age (such as artifacts belonging to the Roman Empire) were dated to before the Roman Empire even began which was quickly corrected since it was known to be wrong. Ergo the overall age of the Dinosaurs is wrong as well. By how much is unknown but considering the overshooting was by at least a quarter we can take that amount of time off of the supposed age of all dinosaur fossils.

A feisty, sassy Calico (cat) will see off a gator. The Doberman or Rottweiler will cry like a baby and run inside screaming; but Phoebe the 'bitchy' bad tempered Calico cat won't tolerate some 'gator' on her territory. She'll stare it down, hissing and low wailing that cats do .....wildly waving her extremely thickened tail. The gator will freeze, not knowing whether to stay still or strike. In the end Phoebe's intense stare will freak it out, and it'll turn around towards the river, sliding back in with a little splash. But Phoebe will remain out there, staring at the water for another 30 minutes to make sure it doesn't return. And it won't - knowing she's around. Meanwhile Butch the Rottweiler, and Lea the Doberman will come outside and start playing like kids. But Phoebe will be unmoved by any of their antics. Because She owns the whole territory. Beware Dogs and Gators. Phoebe IS the Boss. No one gets past Phoebe. Btw, this fictional tale of mine is actually based on a true event.....which someone captured on camera, some while ago now. A black cat really did 'see off' TWO gators. Just google 'cat sees off alligators' and this film footage should come up. It's pretty incredible. Cats are fearless creatures....so not sure where the phrase 'scaredy cat' comes from!??!

Tourists: Why don’t you put up fences to keep alligators out of ponds and lakes and pools. Floridians: Go ahead, Marge. Put up a fence. Lemme know how that works for you 🙄🤣

When my husband and I went to buy a house down in Florida, I got a paper map of the city and X'ed out every neighborhood that had a body of water anywhere near it with a Sharpie pen. Then I highlighted the remaining neighborhoods that had retained their value and looked for homes for sale in those locations. My favorite breed of dogs is the Teacup Yorkshire Terrier and there was no way I was going to live in an area where alligators were going to room during mating season! 26 years and no gators came anywhere near where I lived. Those prehistoric monsters break through the jealousie windows and wander into homes to go after people and animals! Many pets, both cats and dogs are lost to alligators every year and the elderly struggling with dementia have been attacked and eaten by those beasts. Too many people don't seem to understand the danger that they pose! Waterfront property with their views just aren't worth it!

Been living here for 29 years and never seen a gator in our neighborhood. Seen coyotes, raccoons, armadillos, possums and a bear. We live in a more woodsy county in a central Florida city. The nearest pond is about 2 miles away and the lake is 15 miles away. We live in a beautiful community that was developed in the 80s. All the newer communities develop retention ponds for their water runoffs and that is what brings in the gators. If you live in a newer community then you’ll expect to see gators eventually. It’s funny how gators were almost extinct in Florida 50 years ago.

First thing the realtor in Florida told us was it doesn't matter how big the standing water is if there is a puddle there is a gator in it and it is the size based off the water. He also said gators can climb 8 ft fences easily so nothing will keep them out. Just do you best to be aware of surroundings!
