I must try the first exercise, looks awesome! Doing DB lateral raises seated realllllly made a huge difference for me. No swinging involved, it’s all in the lateral head of the delt.

The side lateral partials work so awesome for me! I notice he used to lean back and do them, and then more recently (prior to his departure) he started leaning a little forward. I think when I lean forward and swing I get a much better connection for the side laterals. John was such an amazing guy and he helped us all such a great deal. Rest in peace John!!

I did the lying lateral raise in the pulley-cable earlier today. I love how easy it is to monitor the scapula. 6 sets of 16 reps - solid pump and then the burn. Straight into frozen yoghurt meal :D

Those horizontal cable raises can be done with two resistance bands laying down as well. 👍

The first exercise is something I never thought about, smart movement! Going to try out this one since I don't really like dumbell laterals anyway. Hope to see more of these awesome variations(for example for hamstrings ^^)

I tried that first exercise tonight and it was a killer John!!!! I did a couple sets, it takes a few warm up sets to get the motion down but boy those are killers!!! Thanks guys!!

That cable lateral exercise should win exercise of the year. It’s amazing. Side lateral raises is probably the worst performed exercise for shoulder form wise. This exercise fixes that. Great videos. Just don’t know what supps to buy now Redcon or Granite???

Can't wait to incorporate the cable lateral raises on the bench! What alternative excercise would you recommend for rear delts besides the rear delt machine? The gym I go to does not have that machine. I use cables or dumbbells instead, but would love to see more ideas to work the rear delts. Thank you!

Hmmm, the shoulder blade should rotate upwards when doing side raises. Pinning it on the bench is not good for shoulder health

set up on the rear delt machine, is it better to start with your shoulders pulled back before you start the movement or have your shoulder pulled forward and hold that forward position. thanks.

I think the whole you don’t need front delt Work cuz it gets enough during a chest workout is misleading to tell people I did that for years assuming that was just as good as my front delt could look only doing side and rear movements for shoulders you’ll never get that round light bulb effect for delts doing it that way and you’ll always look narrow from the front

Love your videos John but this workout doesn’t seem like it would ever add mass to your shoulders. No compound lifts, all pretty much isolation exercises. With that being said maby this workout goal wasn’t oriented to mass or putting on size. I’ll definitely be trying the lying cable raises though

Lol she Joe says to do drop set on final set of side lateral raises but you have to use the lowest weight to get 10 reps lool

I have to disagree with reverse pec deck being the best rear delt exercise. Jeff Cavaliere has made several videos with much better alternatives.
