The changeup is an important pitch to learn if you want to keep batters on their toes. Similar to the fastball in execution, the changeup arrives at the mound at a slower pace.
When pitching a changeup, you want to trick the batter into thinking a fastball is coming their way. However, there is a key difference in how you snap the ball. Rather than a frontward release, turn your palm backward at the top of the arm movement.
