There are a lot of reviews on this phone having problems with dropped calls, the phone randomly restarting, apps closing and many other issues. I want to get away from my iPhone as well. I cannot find reviews or data stating how easy (or not) this phone interfaces with Mac. Customer service has been an issue noted in some reviews. Lastly, I have a few apps I use a lot (Pandora, Strong VPN, ADT). How easy does this phone interface with apps? Can you address or provide any insight into my concerns?

There was an issue with freezing up about a year ago. It was a glitch between the Qualcomm chip set and some of the LTE bands. The issue has been fixed now and mine is working great. You won't have any issue with any apps from the Play store as this is running Android 8.1. I am not sure I understand what you need to interface with a Mac for. If you are referring to backing up and Restoring data I would just use my Google account. I hope this helps.

It sounds strange that a phone from Canada would have the AT&T logo as they don't have a presence in Canada. If it started its life on AT&T It may not update unless they authorize it and it is connected to their network long enough to do the upgrade. Most phones are optimized for the network that they were sold to and will do best on that network. The version that the phone will upgrade to is determined by the network it is currently on. Contact your carrier and see what version they have approved.

@@michellestephens6946 Hi Michelle. When you go top the Wi-Fi setting on the phone, Does it show the name of your TELUS Wi-Fi network? (Usually for TELUS networks the name will be TELUS and then 4 numbers.) If it does and the password is correct it should connect. I would try a double blind test. Have someone else try to connect to your Wifi with their phone and then try to connect your Sonim to their network. The idea is to see if the issue is a phone issue or a network issue. In keeping with COVID protocols you just need to go to a friends house and stand outside to do the test. Mine connects with no issues to my TELUS network. Second thing to try is to see if you are running the latest software version on the phone. It should be Android 8.1. (Settings, System, System update). Finally try turning the Wi-Fi off and then back on. Some of these steps should fix the issue. Good luck.

@@Bryanthecellphoneguy curious what you mean "not supported"? I often use dual sim phones on Telus and Fido, often both carriers on the same phone. It's not up to the carrier to determine whether you use dual sim, it's up to whether your phone support it.

It is Dual Sim but this is different from eSim. Dual sim means two physical sims and this phone does have two sim slots. In Canada there is no support for two physical sims but there is support for eSim on the larger networks. It is available on all Apple products from the XR on but the only Androids that use eSim are the Google Pixel series. You should check with your local network to see if the support Dual sim if that is important to you. The XP8 does NOT support eSim.
