That was me. Still remember only the renegade 'new gaurd' college station DJ played this where I was. 88.1 KUCR, Riverside! The DJ would update us West Coast kids on Flash, Bambatta, Shan, Schooly D, Run DMC, UTFO, and so on. Then when the Bridge Wars went down I knew everything but couldn't find Queens/South Bronx on a map, LOL.

Brought me back to 1983, running from expos to breakin' battles with my boyfriend Butch...crazy legging, toplocking, and hauling around my ghetto blaster that was almost too big to fit into a duffle bag. I miss the days our biggest worry was getting enough $ for 12 "D" batteries, keeping our "Fadidas" white, and what crew we'd run into around the next corner
