Thank you for this video. I struggle a lot to be submissive and respectful to my fiance. I grew up with a mother who never truly submitted to my father, and I grew up with this conflict ridden household and a mother who was extremely dominant. I feel like I have embodied a lot of my mothers bad characteristics when it comes to relationships. I am trying so hard to unlearn this. I want my fiance/hubby to feel respected and loved and honored. I hate when I am difficult and cause him frustration.

It's so great to see how a woman can learn to submit and become an expert of their husband, knowing each and every little tiny thing that makes him tick or whatnot, she who submits can craft a manual out of her husband and having that as a life goal is truly admirable! Keep it up!

Excellent video, the only thing I would say is submission isn't sometimes called for in this or that situation. It is called for 100% of the time in all things as God clearly commands, unless he is commanding you to commit sin, clear, obvious sin, not something you may feel convicted about.

@Nomopoly 2 Ephesians 5 : 22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. Ephesians 5: 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in EVERYTHING. It is a virtuous wife who demonstrates full obedience without questioning the “why” and submits to her husband in all matters. They are called to submit to the authority of God and to the authority of those that God has placed over them! Ephesians 5:12 [“For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.”] The marriage relationship based on the principles of scripture trusts that the husband will love his wife and care for her as one flesh as explained in Ephesians 5 :28 [“In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.”]

I can relate ..it actually causes arguments for us ...he tells me " u never just listen to me" "u can't ever just do it my way you have to be difficult" " can u just do what I ask sometimes " the list goes on and he gets angry and frustrated ...I don't like the word "listen" used that way .. Something as small as calling ahead to order pizza instead of just driving through turbines into a whole argument because i didn't want to call ahead like he asked.

I don't like the term listen used that way though either..like I'm a kid who doesn't listen to their parent or something ....it sets me off and turns into an even bigger argument...but thinking back ...i do get he is frustrated and probably just wants to be respected and followed and heard.

Kaye Anne I think whenever a man is upset with us he usually feels disrespected, just like whenever we are upset we usually are not feeling loved. As soon as we see our husbands upset or frustrated one of the first things that we should ask yourselves is:, “am I submitting or respecting him right now?” If the answer is no, flip the switch and I bet it’ll simmer everything down.

Thank you, this was helpful. This is always a tricky topic for me! But when I see it as a character trait that pleases God, that Jesus modeled for us, it makes it less demeaning (-3. I like seeing a strong, intelligent woman talk about submission. You obviously know what you want, but are godly enough to give up the right to live life your own way

Good video but I disagree with the conviction part. A wife's convictions don't usurp God's word. Unless its sin a wife should defer to her husband's leadership. The drinking one is tough because drinking isn't sin but being drunk is. But just because a wife feels convicted by God to do something doesn't mean she shouldn't submit. The only thing that is a 100% is God's word. Can you imagine a wife coming up with all type of "convictions" to not submit?
@harvestgleaner3585
4 жыл бұрын
I don't think convictions mean every little feeling. It means genuinely believing what God says about something. If I were against drinking alcohol and my husband isn't, then we should both help each other follow our convictions respectively, the way it plays out in 1 Corinthians 8. We are to raise our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. So yes, we should teach your children about Jesus, even if our husbands disagree.
@livingunashamed4869

@@harvestgleaner3585 I see what you're saying I'm just saying your thoughts on what you think you heard God saying doesn't override your husband's authority. Many people think they heard from God on a topic but unless its in the word through it out. Just saying, "convictions" are not a good reason to not submit. If its a clear sin of course don't submit but if its a grey area then its the perfect time to give it to the Lord and submit :).
@harvestgleaner3585

@@livingunashamed4869 I guess it depends on the issue. If the wife is just making up "convictions," then obviously that is wrong of her. But if she genuinely feels she is being disobedient to God if she goes along with her husband then of course she should honor God first. And if the husband is a godly man, he would not want to cause his wife to stumble by forcing her to do something that is against what she believes God says is right. Again, using alcohol as an example, which you may consider a grey area... if her husband says, "let's have a beer together," and the woman feels strongly that alcohol is problematic in scripture, and let's even take it a step further and say that she knows alcoholism runs in her family and she doesn't want to subject herself to possibly becoming addicted... Then biblically I believe she could AND should gently, kindly, lovingly decline to drink alcohol. And for the man to force her to go against her convictions in that instance would be manipulative and unloving at best, and abusive at worse. It's pretty simple. Honor God first. Honor your husband second. If you truly follow that standard it is pretty easy to determine what is right and what is wrong. Likewise, the husband should honor God first, and then secondly demonstrate his love toward his wife, primarily by doing everything he can to strengthen her relationship with Christ, not to serve his own benefit.

ok i have one question, you metion alcohol , i see you must not like it how ever if you did, then you would have quoted the scripteure. 1timothy 23 Stop drinking only water and use a little wine instead, because of your stomach and your frequent ailments. then you would have say its ok now? or would you have still said god does not want us too .or would you come to know the true source , bottem line is , if god called you both to commentment despite of you partner responce to you then, but only to your commetrment to him ,and you dont have to submit to your husband if you ask you to do somethiing ungodly then he does not have to love if you do something ungodly.and it is ungodly for you not to listen to him correct?
