Nice job, Mike! I have T2 and World Fit. Love the World Fit handles. Great for overcoming isos. With T2, you can make the concentric/positive has hard as you want with friction-assisted body fight. I assume the same for Iso-Flo. However, that friction makes the eccentric/negative easier for the lowering arm. When I measured T2, it was 2:1. If the Concentric measured 50 lbs, the eccentric measured 25 lbs. Of course, we are much stronger lowering/negative/eccentric than lifting/positive/concentric. 20-75% stronger depending on the person and the muscle. This is why I gravitated away from T2 and towards the Synapse CCR. With Synapse, you can max out on both concentric and eccentric phases.

@@hrothgarrannulfr1972 It's pretty cool. You can do traditional stretch-shorten cycle work with eccentic overload. Also eccentric only, concentric only and both yielding and overcoming isometric. Also, I like to finish my sets with lenghtened partials - half reps in the stretched position. All of that said, it does take a learning curve to use in solo mode. There are ways to move your body to achieve full ROM. Plus, we are so used to controlling the eccentric on the way down that fighting the eccentric with everything we got and having it overcome with the leverage from the pulleys is different and must be learned.

@@hybridresistance You should check it out. One of the major issues I found with the T2 was that no matter how much friction was generated, the squat was always too easy. But with the CCR, no matter how strong I am, just a light movement with the control strap and my entire body is pulled down to the ground!

I have the T2 trainer and the Iso-flow. I just recently got the Iso-flow so haven't used it much but it works very similar to the T2 trainer which I've had for a couple of years. I recently upgraded to the new handles and like them a lot better. The blue flexible handles were my main gripe with the T2 system. Either of these systems are nice to take on vacation so that you can still get in a workout but not having to take a lot of equipment with you. Great review.

Great review Mike. Bullworker did change the handles on one set of straps to the flat ones This was based on users feedback. The round handles were hard on bare feet. I have used the WorldFit with a smooth stainless steel mourning ring to replicate the carabineer Bullworker users. I will send you a link to a video on moding it Mike.

Good stuff I've had a T2 for about year it's my outdoor workout! The slower you go on T2 the harder it is I think you were going too fast speed repetitions to get max difficultly. Way I do it... suspension for the exercise, fast speed one limb at time for exercise (easy mode), then burn out as slow as possible 1 limb at a time (slow mode)
@hybridresistance

I definitely went harder and messed with varying speeds. You for sure can make T2 hard, main point I was making is that the difference isn't too great (again just my opinion) using a simple carabiner. Biggest concern of mine with the iso-flo is if it will prematurely wear down the strap over time.
@buddyryan875

@@hybridresistance yes I understand your point. But if you go slow speed there is no way the isobow provides more resistance than T2. T2 is using your own force against you at slow speeds it's absolutely more resistance than bands. I can't do more more than 5-10 reps real slow it's absolutely too hard. T2 is one of the best things I own. I just leave it in the car and after going for a run outside hook it up to a pull up bar and get a crazy good workout in 30 min

@@buddyryan875 You got to try out the Synapse CCR. You will find that harder than the T2 isotrainer! But you can only train one side at a time because the other side is the control strap. Ive used the T2 and the isoflo before.

If WorldFit can sell their product for $39.99 which consists of 2 handles, 2 cam buckles, and plenty of webbing; how can IsoFlo sell their near identical equipment for $119.99? Doesn’t make sense. I could basically buy 3 WorldFit ISO Trainers for the price of 1 IsoFlo. Have 1 in the gym bag, 1 in the vehicle, and 1 mounted at home. Throw in a carabiner and I’m covered.

Hi Mike, have you considered the Pilates kit for your Total GYM GTS or even the Total Gym Fit Pilates (leg pulley and golf core) kit. I’m kind of wondering if the Pilates kit would overlap usage of the ISO trainer. Or even setting up the T2 iso trainer with the Pilates kit … I can see some interesting possibilities there and integration with the total gym.. Also on the GTS, is attaching the total gym pulley to the central column effectively the same as using the T2 , or is the feeling different ??
@hybridresistance
Жыл бұрын
I’ve been meaning for sometime to break out that Pilates kit and actually I’m looking forward to trying out Randy’s from huck products version. There definitely are some great things you could do with that thing. I think the only difference between using a straight pulley and some sort of carabiner/T2 would be it wouldn’t provide friction for resistance. Of course you could just fight yourself though using the pulley with the opposing arm.

You should add the Synapse CCR to that list. It has more of a learning curve than anything else Ive tried though. What I find the most beneficial is the levels of resistance you can work against in all modes (isometric ,eccentric, concentric). You can only train one side at a time unless you have two units and a partner / trainer though. But because the resistance comes from the pulley system, it only takes a slight movement of the control strap to become very challenging and the resistance is constant. It's the eccentric training that makes it stand out more than other units too.

@@mreverybody1150 Thanks, I may have seen it, and likely put off by the price. I'll check it in a minute. Agree finding a way of increasing the eccentric portion needs to be a key component to becoming faster and stronger...Cal Dietz uses the split squat with only toes on the ground...but the lift need 2 partners ...one either side to make it safe...and a power cage helps....as the weight is too heavy to push up, and it's only used for the descent and eccentric portion. I shall get there. Tomorrow I am building a device like the Isomax...I have all the gear and I am using some worktop I have sown to size...then I shall fix a ring and some bolts for attachments...then add some timber around the base so the end of the bolt does not protrude the standing block. I have bought 3 different springs of differing sizes and tension. The main issue is that most springs are either very weak, such as those for wrapping around things, or they can hardly be moved...such as those used for hammocks. I have asked the guy at Isomax to see if he can come up with a similar device to the Isomax using springs, even contact Bullworker...and chains can be used too for the concentric portion...so then both concentric and eccentric can be developed, as well as isometric. Lets see. In the meantime...I'm making my own, and going to look around for better springs. Ideally need something that enables you to stretch the spring, so you can control it only as it recoils...then it hits the sweet spot of the eccentric. Somebody could make a lot of money out there...think how many Bullworkers have been sold down the years....and many old models are still in circulation on ebay and such like. Thanks for the tip! And have a good week.
