lmao I choked at the Hoodwinked reference. In regards to the video's visuals, she said in the q/a before the KZitem premiere that the video has scenes references exile, seven, mirrorball, and mad woman. exile is when we begin at the end of cardigan: "I think I've seen this film before and I didn't like the ending" seven is the "flashback" scene when Taylor and Taeok are children playing cat's cradle. mirrorball is when she's trapped in the glass box performing for everyone, cut off from her lover. She said that this scene also represents how she feels about fame-- she enjoys the performance until she wants to be alone with her lover, then realizes that she can't leave. I think it's also telling that she's wearing a wedding dress in this scene. So many people are waiting on pins and needles for her to get married, but she's said repeatedly that she wants her relationship with Joe to remain private mad woman is when the hooded witches are dancing in the second to last scene. This can also double as a I Did Something Bad reference, as both use witches imagery: "They're burning all the witches even if you aren't one" and "Women like hunting witches too." Also, obviously the whole concept of the video is rooted in invisible string: "one single thread of gold tied me to you." Also also, I think the very last scene is a reference to Daylight: "gotta step into the daylight and let it go"

So I been looking at the mv of willow and I realized that this a metaphor of her relationship with Joe. Each scene is a different era of her career. Fearless/Speak Now: This the hardest one. I notice that they showed her feet and the tree. That can be referring to the mv of 15. Actually the way she walks is the same way in that mv. The lake can be referring to Mine MV. Also the leaves around the lake is purple which is the color of the dress from the Speak Now album. Red: when she dives into the water she turns into a kid. That is referring to Everything has change MV. 1989: this era is when she was in a glass box. She has talked about how in 1989 everyone was watching her every move. I also like that she was singing in this scene. This could be referred to the lyrics in invisible spring, "bad was the blood at your first trip to LA". Bad Blood was in the 1989 album and that was the first time Joe heard her sing. So when she said that she comes back faster then a 90s trend. She is about to go down a trap door or a rabbit hole. This is referencing to lyrics from Long Story Short. "I went down a rabbit hole. Long story short it was a bad time" Reputation: When she is walking in the woods she has a black hood over her head. I believe that is referencing to Ready for It MV. Also this scene they are doing some kind of ritual. It could be referencing to lyrics from I Did Something Bad. Lover: She walked outside hand and hand with her lover. It was daylight outside the door. These are Easter Eggs I haven't heard anyone talk about.

Taylor in the live chat for "willow" said that it had scenes that represent exile (when she walked out of the tree and jumped into the water), seven (the young Taeok and Taylor scene), mirrorball (when she was in the glass box in the place that looked like a circus) and mad woman (the weird cloak light balls scene) as well as the 4 seasons.

This music video is definitely a parallel to Ready For It. In RFI she was trapped in a glass cage against her true self. Here in willow she was trapped in a glass cage against her lover. Both cages represent her fame and how no matter what aspect of her life, she's meant to put on this show. In RFI she broke through the glass, telling us her true self is free. But in willow she had to find a way to escape. Meaning her lover is still beyond the glass cage of fame, and she is only allowed to meet with them in secret. I feel like the ending shot is something she wishes to achieve with her lover - stepping into the daylight and letting go

I loved your reaction shes the queen of mvs ❤️So taylor said 4 songs (mirrorball seven exile and mad women ) from folklore with specific lyrics inspired her through the video here are my toughts . The first scene is the one innthe woods next to willow I think it has SEVEN reference remember Feet in the swing over the creek I was too scared to jump in . The second scene with the kids I think its an EXILE reference :You never gave a warning I leave so many signs . The scene from that glass box is a MIRRORBALL reference when no one is around my dearest , shining just for you , trying everything to get you looking at me laughing at me . The last scene in the woods with the fire I think its The MAD WOMAN one :Woman like haunting witches too . Im not very sure about this give your toughts . She also said in the video there is a scene that represents how she feels about fane I still cant figure out wich one it is 🤷♀️One last thing that costar was one of the dancers in the red tour ❤️

As a n Australian with a Macedonian background i grew up surrounded with superstitions. I remember hearing one about seeing the face of your true love in water (at midmight). So this place Taylor is in is like that. magical, mythical, folklore :) in my interpretation of it, she used the invisible string concept but telling ir the story of her and joe in a magical folklore vibe. (Pixie hollow tree, tinkerbell, disney vibes). But at the same time using them old folklore culture of superstitions and rituals. She sees (joe) her true love. Then the invisible string (fate) begins. She follows it. Leading her to fame. Entertaining others. But he always had the string. He left to go on his path. Their paths were similair (fame) but because shes literally one of the most famous people in the world and such a huge star, she became trapped and further away from him. But he was still always there. She found a way to be free but in order to do that she needed to be exiled and bthbeco"mea witch". Its also almost like rep taylor is telling herself 'show me where the others gave you scars" to the taylor in the circus cage. During the hoodie witch exiled dark era revealed the golden string. She followed and it lead her home and to true love and happiness.

Ok so, I got a lot from this music video. Obviously it's the metaphor of the invisible string leading her to her soulmate. Along the way she's trapped in the glass box. I think she's mirroring the cardigan video in a way of showing the different eras of her life. The glass box is her 1989 fame. She's up there in a box untouchable, but also not able to be loved. She's alone and can't get out. The only way out was to go down the rabbit hole... and she did. The reputation era was the hooded scene. During that scene she wanders off to follow the invisible string (and we see that her soulmate was there the whole time!!!) Eventually the string brought her back to him, back to home, just like the cardigan video. Taylor also said during the videos premiere that she referenced songs from folklore. The kids scene was a nod to seven, mirror ball was in the fire when you can see them burning the mirror balls (which is a whole different metaphor in itself!!!) She said exile was referenced, but I haven't found it yet. She also said the glass box scene is how she feels about fame.
