This was extremely interesting to me as a game maker. As it happens I was thinking about making an actual 16-bit arcade game earlier today. Thank you for the upload. I'd love to see more interesting videos like this.

Excellent talk by Toshi Omagari! I was interested in attending this, but couldn't make it, so glad you were able to upload this video - thank you! I've always had a passing interest in fonts and typefaces, and used to design my own 8x8 pixel fonts for my ZX Spectrum back when I was a teenager.

Great presentation. I have ported several early arcade games and always try to keep the font as it really is part of that game's experience. The Sprint font is unusual as the screen resolution is 512x240, but I don't remember them making any use of the extra resolution for the font. Kee games was just a marketing loophole that Atari used to get around exclusive rights in different parts of America. Hard Driving must have been an earlier 3D driving game.

It was interesting to see how the fonts reflected the story of the game development itself. The Japanese fonts were kinda terrible, with some "all your base" kinds of misunderstanding of English, whereas Atari's font seemed much more simple and no nonsense, almost PONG like. Nothing too interesting, but nothing wrong either.
