Do this tennis drill to improve your balance and stability in forehand shot.
In this video Javi is showing you a simple exercise in which a player stands on a stool and hits forehand shots in the air without ball bounce. The purpose of this exercise is to stabilize your forehand swing motion and build up your core muscles for better balance and stability. Having your feet put together and not being able to use them to move, a player has to focus on a good timing by quickly reading the ball and trying to hit it on the racket's sweet spot.
More advanced players can stand on a Bosu Ball or an unstable surface to make this exercise more challenging. Another option to complicate the drill is to do it standing on just one leg.
We recommend you do 5 sets of 10 balls each and take a short 1-min rest in between. Enjoy!
