I have Kidney Disease, and I tried creatine multiple times from my teens into my now 40s. Each time it resulted in a large increase in my creatinine output. Last year, I tried it again and got bloodwork done at start, 3 month and 6 month intervals. Start was 1.35. 3 was 1.55 and 6 was 1.93. I tried to keep as much the same; diet, exercise and hydration. Also, absolutely none of the nephrologists I've been treated by (at least 4 in the last 20 years) have OKd the use of creatine supplements for me.

Honestly i think the biggest benefit of creatine is recovery. First time i ever trained for like a month consistently and i was sore after most sessions, recently i did start going again and this time took creatine and since my 5th session or something i was barely sore at all, even when i tried to train hard, if i wanted to i could go train everyday because yeah the soreness isn't preventing me, but i choose to go every other day to make sure that i'm fully recovered.

My hair thinned out a lot when I took it regularly a couple of years ago. I didn't know why that was and heard about creatine doing so. I love science, but in this case, I had to stick with my gut and anecdote. My hair grew back full in maybe half a year? A lot of people don't experience hair loss, so I'd try it out first. If you do experience hair loss, just stop taking it, and eventually, you'll get back to normal.

Been watching creatine videos for weeks now non stop. I'm in my early 20s and I have male pattern baldness since my mid teens 😅, I still have a full head of hair just my hairline is something like Vegeta's. I am so tempted to take creatine for the recovery benefits but the overwhelming amount of comments from people, granted they're genetically predisposed to MPB, experiencing hair thinning under almost every video on this topic is scary. He said testosterone causes hair loss because of the DHT so therefore, if your taking creatine you’re working out more and getting more reps and therefore building more muscle and bigger pumps so therefore you’re going to produce natural testosterone in your body, so who is to say, it’s not the creatine during the hair loss but the extra testosterone you’re building in the process of taking creatine

I started a loading phase and I started producing a lot of mucus. A lot to the point that I could feel globs of it going down my throat when I didn't spit it out every 5 minutes. I even woke up in the middle of the night several times coughing it up because there was just so much in my mouth. I felt like all the saliva in my mouth had been turned into snot. I stopped loading and got better, then a few weeks later I tried again and the same thing happened. My nose got runny, my allergies got worse, and then I started producing overwhelming amounts of mucus. My allergies get bad around that time of year but not usually like that, could it have been a coincidence? I'm a little worried to try loading again because that was a really bad experience. I was using micronized creatine monohydrate, if the creatine was indeed the cause of my worsened allergies and mucus would another type of creatine be likely to work without causing those effects?

I am currently on antipsychotic medication (specifically olanzapinum - second generation antipsychotic) and was wondering if it is safe to use creatine as well. My experience with creatine: I am probably prone to hairloss, because I see some hair thinning on my father. My mother has awesome looking thick hair, and on her side noone was balding that I know of. My grandpa on father's side has gone completely bald. I experimented with creatine when I was around 16. I had a full head of healthy hair at the beginning. During the first couple of months, I've seen noticeable thinning around the top back of my head. I stopped taking it to see if it fixes the issue, and everything is back to normal. Now 5-6 years later still no remaining side effects. My hairline matured, but no thinning on the area that I've seen back then. Still looking great. :) Looks like I got better hair genes than my dad, because he had worse hair when he was my age, but I am still somewhat sensitive to DHT. Long story short: I think you can experiment with it, and if you see any change for the worse you'll get better when coming off if you would not have gone bald anyways without creatine.
