@@garysmith4427 So like... Now charge $15 for the "life time operating system subscription". Hell if you built in the most basic of HTTPS into it... just enough to say... upload a spreadsheet, or word document to a server... And it could only connected ofcourse to 1 server that your company also ran and allowed user to download whatever they upload... for another 1 time $5 charge... Congrats your business model is a collection of free email accounts your company controls and and a software you didn't really have to make. Market as a hipster writing and spread solution for $20 total... no overhead... and no worries about having to maintain the code. You could probably make a coule $100,000 off morons before you got sued and had to flee with your money behind some shell companies.

You know whats even better than MS Dos? Not turning your pc on at all. Tired of waiting 8 seconds for your PC to boot? just use a pen and paper instead and you can access it in less time for great efficiency. MS Dos can't hope to compete with no computer at all, it has no operating system and nothing running and therefore it is faster and more efficient.

@kazriko
10 жыл бұрын
True, but there are much more modern command prompt oriented operating systems. MS-Dos is fast, but it hasn't been maintained, unlike QNX, Minix, Linux, or *BSD. (All of these have command line, in addition to optional gui.) You can even run DOS programs with these OSes. They can also be quite light weight as well. QNX can run off a single 1.44mb floppy. Linux regularly runs on systems with less than 4 megabytes of storage. And they all support hard drives larger than 128gig. Though, I do have fond memories of running a BBS on MSDos + Desqview, and fonder memories of switching to OS/2 instead.
