If you are a black woman in a relationship with a white man, then maybe this poem resonates with you as it resonated with me. I hope it makes you feel seen, heard, and validated. Thank you all so much for watching and supporting me and my channel. You are so so appreciated and you MATTER! Be well babies.

Idk i believe black women lots of times get so much grief in “traditional black culture “ a few black women have said most black men don’t treat women like I treat them, protecting and providing. Anyone that thinks you’re solving the world’s problems by dating choices is crazy. Thanks for sharing

Oh for sure dating doesn’t solve the world’s problems and I’ve said that in previous videos AND at the same time, if a healthy relationship changes one person’s life for the better that does change that person’s world and that is a beautiful thing that can have rippling effects. Be well!

Hi pretty girl! Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem and your insightful perspective. So often, I think that Black women can't win for losing. My experience has often been along the lines of some Black men being completely disinterested in me, but quite frankly not looking for White men to want me either. I've happily noted that many commercials today reflect interracial couples, but to the irritation of some (not all of course) Black men. I've heard a few comedians complain about "losing" Black women to White men in commercials (sigh). I have to laugh at times, simply to keep from crying. lol Thank you for taking the time to produce this week's video, girl! 🥰

Aww thank you pretty girl for showing up for another video! And you're right, most of the time it does feel like we can't win for losing. And YES! I hear so many black women say they don't think white men would be "checking for them" but I would say every 1 out of 3 comments I get on this channel from a white man is him saying that he would love to be with a black woman but thinks a black woman wouldn't be interested in him. We've all just fallen victim to these ridiculous narratives about who and what we should be.

Well I have hazel eyes (which I have been told change color occasionally), and have over 50 years loving Human women of darker skin colors, ethnicities, and different occupations. Haters hate; forgiveness heals the forgiver, and the day one stops learning, loving, and growing then life becomes more of a burden. I have been quite blessed with the women who have helped me learn & love during this time; particularly the women of color of at least two continents. Poetry as well as History ask questions that humans strive to answer as well as help make a better life for themselves and others. It is not always easy, but it has been a worthwhile endeavor for me. Please keep up the great work of teaching and bringing love as well as understanding into this world.

I have come to the conclusion that no matter what we do we as black women will always be criticize. We are damned if we do and damned if we don't. I just live my life and move in silence and stay low key.
@AmandaAwakens
Жыл бұрын
Yep, it’s a legitimate damned either way situation lol. You take your time to find the right partner and you’re criticized for not being married and having children and having “hit the wall.” If you rush into a relationship and things go sour you’re criticized for not “choosing better.” The opinions mean nothing and are mostly just projections of insecurities!

Our loyalty and support and resources are what is missed by black people. We want to be pampered and shelter and we seek that and find it in another community. So be it. I will never disparage my people but I am not anyone keepers. I am where I am loved and accepted.

Thank you for sharing the poem and the link for it. I actually watched your video twice, read the poem, then watched your video again. It seems simple but there was a lot packed in there. I loved the ending. At the end of the day, after all the BS, its just you and the one you love sitting and rocking together. Nothing else matters. Keep up the good work. ❤❤❤

Hey Amanda. Thanks for sharing this poem. You know I’m Team Ginger too. Prince Harry 😍 Married or not, he’s still my celebrity crush. Chris Pratt is good looking too. Since I’ve never dated a white guy, their are some things I do think about because of our history especially being a black person and woman in America. As many questions that he might have about my culture, I have just as many questions about his. So, I’m up for it. Great vid and can’t wait for the next one.
