Today's virtual field tour at the Oregon State University Oak Creek Center for Urban Horticulture features the Al Shay, Kathleen Dennis and Myrtle Horel, OSU Department of Horticulture, for a tour of their urban garden row demonstration plot. Featuring the 'green tower', packing plants into smaller spaces, and a garden inspired by a student exchange trip to Ecuador.
The Oak Creek Center for Urban Horticulture is a 6.5 acre outdoor learning laboratory on the southwest edge of the OSU campus. The site provides teaching opportunities as well as providing a wide array of hands-on experiences that fuel our student’s personal and professional growth. Researchers from the OSU Department of Horticulture and Department of Crop and Soil Science utilize the space for research, teaching, and community engagement.
