This scene, and Marlo's final scene pairingly, perfectly delivers on Marlo's values/motivations/or dreams. In the end, Marlo is ruined by Omar's assaults on his reputation. Marlo recognizes the threat of someone who will punk him because what happens on the street is all anyone living there will remember.

I always wondered why Chris held back on not telling Marlo what Omar said. I'm now starting to think it was based on Marlo's leadership. Chris and Snoop were already having a hard time finding Omar, but since Marlo was ruthless, he probably would've had everybody on a wild goose chase giving Omar easy kills. I can't think of another reason, but it can't be because Marlo had "too much on his plate" 😒
@daREALtruestory
2 жыл бұрын
I think Chris felt like Marlo would personally go to war with Omar and risk getting himself killed for the sake of his rep. It’s funny because the whole beef started when Omar robbed Marlo at the card game that’s like everyday shit and Marlo was handling it strategically but the thought of Omar throwing dirt on Marlo’s name in the street is enough to make him drop everything and go to the streets himself looking for Omar …further evidence by Marlo’s final scene on the show when he was cleared of all his charges and could walk away from the game with 26 million but immediately went right back to the streets still in his business uniform to further cement his rep because that quickly the streets forgot. Also remember he sent Chris, Snoop and Mike to run inside Junebug’s house because he was talking shit about him, Marlo cares more about his reputation than anything in the world.
@ashkeygii9449
2 жыл бұрын
@@daREALtruestory I agree that Chris didn't want to have Marlo sending everyone on a wild goose chase because of his pride. However, I don't believe he was too strategic in his hunt for Omar after the card game. I think it was after that, Marlo tried to pin the murder-robbery on him. Marlo wasn't so strategic to know his enemy and that killing an innocent wasn't Omar's style. Yet, I understand you mean strategic as though he at least tried to plan even if the plan was bad.
@daREALtruestory
Жыл бұрын
@@ashkeygii9449 yeah that’s what I meant …it was bad strategy but even deploying Chris, Snoop or anyone else to do the job is what I meant also by strategically …when he got robbed at the card game there were other high players there and he just got caught slipping by a notorious stick up artist it was nothing personal…he had to respond but his rep was not in immediate danger…the only time we see Marlo get his hands dirty is when his reputation is at stake. Even when he shot Davonne I think that was a message from one boss to another (Avon) but I’m getting off topic lol
@ashkeygii9449
Жыл бұрын
@@daREALtruestory true, although Marlo rarely got his hands dirty. The only 2 kills he has is the witness that was going to snitch on his operation and Devonne who set him up to die. He got his hitters on everyone else, which is kinda smart since we never saw Avon kill after kingpin status. Even though Marlon had no plans of doing the killing, I think he took Omar's poker robbery personal. Marlo finally won poker and Omar takes the money and that ring and Marlo says "this ain't over". Before that, Marlo disregards Omar when Old Face Andre tells him Omar robbed his store and takes the ring from Andre. Marlo took it personal later when HE was directly robbed by Omar. He took it so personal, he didn't have Snoop and Chris look for him to put him in a vacant, but chose to be lazy and kill an innocent to frame Omar when they were too sloppy in not doing research to know that was Omar's MO 🤷🏾♀️
