I think the stone mosaic will look fab... I like quirky and not precise... Your place is going to look so good when you finally get to sleep in there and enjoy your morning coffee morning

You are doing a really nice job with the tiling🥰. What I think would look really nice would to stop the tiles where you have an even line from one end of the room to the other, then do the stone mosaic from that straight line to the wall. Letting the mosaic undulate between the straight line of tiles to the wall. I hope I am explaining myself without confusing you(?). Hope you get your toilet fixed soon🤞, that must be disheartening!

Use the wood tile to the edge. They can be trimmed to follow the edge of the wall.

I think the tile job is great! You could have the tile cut and scribed to fit along the walls, but without the tools you would need help. I think the idea of a pebble trim around the walls is a great choice, the rope would be harder to keep clean. I hope that you can soon get the bathroom back in working order. 🙂👍👍🇨🇦

Hi Christine. You have done a great job with thr tiling abd I am so glad that you now have air con. It is so essential with those areas. I think that scribing and laying the tiles around the sides would give the room a much nicer and finished look. It would be more work, but in my opinion would be worth it. Maybe time tho get to grips with an angle grinder😁

Yes, I agree with the scribing and laying the tiles around the sides. Maybe get someone to help with finishing it, if you don't feel comfortable with the angle grinder?

The tile looks wonderful. You should be very proud. As far as the mosaic area. If you decide to go that route, be very careful choosing color. You don't want anything so bright or dark it draws all the attention away from the beautiful work you've done in the field tiling. And...You'll want to match the existing tile height as closely as possible. No stubbed toes or wonky furniture sitting along the walls. Small grid tiles, that come on sheets, are easy to nibble and trim to contours. Small squares, hexagons and tons of colors.

I would take the tiles right to the wall. I realise it would be a lot of scribing and cutting. Alternately, make mosaic out of your tiles by smashing them. Whatever you do I'm sure it will look nice though

We e just done the same style tiles. Any good tiler would be able to cut the tiles to fit all the gaps. I think it would look better. We also used a coloured brown grout so very small areas blend in with grout only.

Well done sealing the door area succesfully, Christine! Good job. Gerd is very kind to assist you with the tile cutting and advice. The aircon is a must have in that extreme heat, it seems. Lovely and blends in nicely too. I think the stone mosaic will look good and will match the stone pillars. However, I do think another row of tiles on the wider edge would be better. Rope is also a novel idea, however rope tends to gather lots of dust and odd pieces of dirt and doghairs which become stuck in there. Adds to the cleaning jobs again. Good going and nearly there!

Kom mooi aan, Lyk pragtig. Wel gedaan... You can nail thick rope to the floor/wall with small nails/tacks, after putting down Silicone to glue it all in place, if you want?

Hi Chris,🎉 great job sealing the door. Clear Silicon would stick the rope to the wall and could be removed in future if you want to change it. Have you tried any of your vino yet ? Tony 🇬🇧❤️xx

Remember to clean off as much mortar before it dries. You have to hip it away after it hardens and run the risk of damaging your tile.

Hi Christine Awesome to see your progress! Have you thought about having the front door shortened a cm or two ? to keep your inside floor level. An angle grinder with a diament disk,, is in my opinion the least danagues kind,, it cuts tiles and really hard things nice and slowly,, but not really skin. Like you thumbnail,, good pictura!

I would use smaller granite rocks ( fist size or smaller) the same as your vertical granite pillars. Will cover the imperfect fit from tile to wall and blend in nicely..

Wonderful progress on the tiled floor👍Have you thought about creating your own mosaic? Use left over tiles, smash them under a cloth with a hammer... and voilà, you have mosaic that matches your tiles. Just an idea, if it's hard to find small granite stones. Best of luck on this final part of the room. Kind regards from a rainy, cold Sweden💛💙, Katarina
