In the starting position should we point our toes outwards or straight? Let’s think.
The wider at start your toes out - the easier for the bar to pass the knees. Because your knees follow your toes' direction.
But the main reason to point your toes a little out, is to bring the bar closer to your hip joint. And when I bring the bar closer, I make it lighter. This is how it happens
Look at the distance between my hip joint and the bar:. And bringing the bar closer makes the lifting lighter and t.
These are 1 kilo plates, they are equal. But if I place one a bit closer to the center it’ll become lighter, the one which is further from the center outweighs.
Once you put your toes straight, the bar moves away and thus becomes heavier and your lifting slower.
If you place the bar even further - you’ll be lifting even more slowly.
Want to lift lighter - point your toes out and bring the bar closer
And inversely - the further we place the bar at start - the harder it will be to lift.
How’d you position your toes? This kind of questions we discuss in our chat. Where you’ll also find a great program, link in the bio
