One big thing, I think, about getting 10-15 years out of the batteries before needing to swap them is that by that time it's a very real possibility that the newest generation of batteries might be a massive improvement over the batteries you had in there even when they were brand new.

I'm a machinery safety engineer in NZ, those harvestline addon kits are an awesome idea, but in reality are a fatigue cracking nightmare! They get fitted to construction spec excavators, and they absolutely trash the booms! Interesting pushing the use as a grapple yarder tower too, there are so few yarder operators left around these parts, most companies have gone over to winch assist harvesters, but there's a couple of old Madills and Thunderbirds still kickin'

Have run a Harvestline and currently run a old Thunderbird swing yarder running a johnson grapple. The harvestline doesn't hold a candle to a real yarder for production and efficiency. It burns a twice the fuel, line speed is slow, doesn't pull very hard and needs a lot of room to set up.

Awesome and very informative, and got me thinking!! In the world of E-bikes when batteries start to fail or more specific when cells in said battery pack start to give out we are able to diagnose which cell is failing and change our that individual cell or a whole group in a series. Saves hundreds of dollars on a 52V battery pack when it can be repaired rather then replaced. Not sure if that would ever be an option in the world of Edison but thought I would throw it out there for possible discussion. I am by no means a genius in the world of electric, but being raised by a cheap Alberta farmer and in the age of DIY on KZitem I have become "KZitem certified" on a few things. Keep up the awesome progress guys!!!

YES my NEW ( Lectric) bike did over 35 miles in Vancouver Stanley Park training my mini Australian shepherd to heal alongside me. Only one drop in the power box using the pedal to assist. When I got home I had no power to electric the motor. Screen worked. The company walked me through troubleshooting. And it's all plug and play. You can't plug in any connection to the wrong hole. The company is sending me a new motor and I can replace it myself. Or there is a factory service shop nearby. It is so simple to troubleshoot. The factory guy went through a few tests over the phone with us, and we figured out it was the motor. I love that you can't connect into the other wire. On disconnect of any wires.

And for 2024 Edison Motors has their prototype Diesel/Electric Hybrid Heavy Duty Semi. Range on batteries is over 200 KM then the 9 Liter Caterpillar Generator starts up to power the truck while recharging the batteries. This truck nicknamed “Topsy” after the elephant euthanized by electrocution at Coney Island in 1903. “Topsy” is designed by truck drivers for truck drivers mainly for “Long Logging” and other heavy duty and off road use where a pure electric truck simply is not suitable. Topsy is built to haul loads up to 180,000 lbs and the first load moved (before it was street legal) was slightly heavier than 100,000 lbs. the future of long haul trucking isn’t with BEV Trucks but with Hybrid Electric Trucks, Edison Motors is also working on conversion kits for Heavy Duty Pickups that will replace the ICE Drivetrain with Electric Axles, Battery Packs and an onboard Range Extender which could be Diesel, Hydrogen, Gasoline, Propane, or even a Microturbine Driving a Generator

I fail to see the connection between planned obsolescence and having a membership tier on a youtube channel hahahahahah. We do this for a number of reasons, such as: 1. We release a rough version of a video first to our members, so they can point out any mistakes, or things that we should add in the video before it goes public, because once a video goes public, you can't change it. 2. Not all videos are suitable for a public audience, this is our business account, and we sometimes release things that are not so business related. 3. Not all the videos we release are up to KZitems algorithm standards. We may have content that our biggest fans would want to see, but if we released it publicly it would preform poorly. Poorly preforming videos affect all your videos. An example would be, if you release some videos and they do not get reach or they preform poorly for views, you can later end up releasing a great video, but that video is now negatively affected by your poor preforming videos, and it wont not get pushed by youtube to the masses. 4. Seeing private videos, such as first access to videos, and videos we would not have posted to our public account, is a perk of membership, and in return you help fund our youtube channel and pay my wage (Theron). Without youtube revenue, Edison would not be able to hire me to bring you content. Our membership supporters are funding you to be able to have content to watch. Now, with that explained, can you please explain to me how our ethos against planned obsolescence can possibly have anything to do with us having a membership tier to our youtube videos?
@walterhale3326

@@EdisonMotors I love what you are doing and what you guys will do in the future. I can’t afford to join your private member’s club and that means that I am missing some great content that I would love to see. My point about planned obsolescence is that you block out a certain class of people for profit. Just like the big car companies that keep thing’s private ( dealers ) you are doing the same with your content just on a smaller scale for now, but it all starts somewhere. I will support you guys no matter if I can see all your content or not, just letting you know that is what I meant by the connection of planned obsolescence and I would love to enjoy all of your great work Cheers 🍻
