A much different video than normal for me - if you are not a homeschooler, thinking about being one, or interested in homeschooling, you can easily skip this one! I'll have my next "real" June episode with knitting and Stash Fluffing goodness out next week! I'm as always happy to answer questions, and I'd love to hear about your own homeschool planning, etc in the comments ❤

You did a great job, Stephanie! I’ve been homeschooling for 23 years and have been asked to speak on curriculum a few times. You’ve covered all of the bases really well!

Thank you! This is a new topic to dive into "publicly" for me, but I hope a few people find it inspiring or helpful!

Thank you, Stephanie! I’ve several friends who will benefit from your knowledge. I especially love your calm demeanor as this is a part of homeschooling I hated - the planning!

Yay homeschooling! You should make a list to share of your kids’ favorite read alouds! We tend toward history stuff but I need to expand their little horizons.

This is a great idea! I'll have to give that some thought. My kids love history read alouds too!

Thank you for sharing your ideas. It is overwhelming for me at times and that is why I am spending so much time right now creating lesson plans for the co-op science classes for Fall semester. You really rock with your organizational skills! I admire all moms who homeschool full time!!

Thank you for sharing how you homeschool. I have been homeschooling for almost 12 years now, but I'm not the greatest at planning. Our last year was also extremely busy. My goals for next year to make it run more smoothly are to do less extra activities and to plan ahead better. You've inspired me with some great ideas. Thank you!

I am so glad! It's amazing how difficult it is to stay home when you are homeschooling! We definitely have to pick and choose our activities carefully so that we actually have time to make school happen. I hope you have a wonderful year!

Thank you for putting out this content. It was helpful to hear how you do things with your family. Ever since summer break began, I haven’t wanted to think about next year at all! I tend to get wrapped up in checking off all the boxes and making sure we finish everything. Watching this video made me feel less scared about facing next year and planning it for my kids.

Love this! I think we are very similar homeschool planners though I don’t go quite so detailed as you but I think I will for the upcoming year! I haven’t started planning next year at all yet. I always think of it loosely as June is for cleaning up last year’s books and writing a summary, July is for researching what to do next, and August is for the actual planning.

I love that "month by month" system for tackling the planning. I always find myself hyper-focusing on it in June, but it's impossible to get done all at once!

I love hearing how you organize your year. I never needed to consider homeschooling because we had an idyllic tiny mountain school our kids attended (and i cared for the teachers' children in my home!❤) but these days--the school was gobbled up by the district and then closed--there would be no choice but to homeschool😢

I really enjoyed our homeschooling career. I had a very eclectic method of homeschooling, but leaned heavily to the Charlotte Mason method

Hi Stephanie 😊 This video was very helpful! We had a bit of a rough 2nd semester in our homeschool, so I feel a little burned out. I struggle with “what is the right amount of planning?” every year. The truth is, I am a “by-the-seat-of-my-pants” person, and this is often a disaster! I’m going to try your calendar overview and see if that helps! Thank you for sharing your system ❤

The struggle is real!! I find it really helps my kids at the end of the year to see that there IS an end - and one where we feel like we accomplished what we set out to do - not just declared summer break (which has happened!). I don't push us to fully finish every book/curriculum because in a school setting that never happens. But, it is nice to say "let's get to this point and you are finished with that subject"! I hope the calendar gives you just the right amount of planning and structure without crushing your free spirit :)
