So I am genuinely curious, do trump supporters actually agree with him when he makes statements to the effect, "no president has accomplished as much as me in their first/up to (insert time period)"? Do they objectively think his first two years are the greatest in the history of the presidentcy because that is his basic assertion. And if they don't, what do they think when he tells such blatant and grandiose lies? How does making such a statement lend "dignity and respect" to the office since "restoring" dignity and respect were such a big deal to republicans post-Clinton and post-Obama?
@Veritas-invenitur
5 жыл бұрын
Honestly most republicans and Trump supporters are just so sick of all the Trump Bashing done by the left and the media that they no longer care what he does or says. In a lot of peoples minds Trump has become a victim of bullying and rather than coward he stands up to it calling them out publicly. When the Trump tax cuts were being voted on the left said it would only help the rich and made it out to be the worst and most evil thing ever done in this country. Then when the tax cuts were passed people found out it helped everyone, boosted employment, and the GDP. Every beneficial policy passed by Trump has been preached by the left as apocalyptic. This has lead to a credibility gap between the left and the right so large that Trump can say nearly whatever he wants and his base will believe him. As for the Russia investigation, the second it came out that the Steele dossier was written by a disgraced ex-spy who would do anything to take down Trump. In addition to the fact that the dossier was funded by the Clintons. Republicans started viewing it was a witch hunt even before Trump said it was. Just take a look at the the verifiable lies Trump has told, all the awful things he has said and done, all the scandals he has been involved in. And yet with all of this 4 out of 10 Americans nation wide are publicly willing to say they would reelect him.

I remember a time when this kind of stuff was considered to be childish behavior and hardly becoming of someone holding the office of president. While his actions and words tell a few of us exactly what kind of person he his, other people will always judge him by different standards; like his supporters. We are all touching a different part of the elephant we call life, and right now a large amount of us in this country are shaking our heads. How many of us have forced ourselves out of bed to go to a job we hate just to put food on the table? Much like admitting when he's wrong, work ethic seems to elude him. "Fake it till you make it" is his philosophy, and if he had any respect for any of us he would quit trying to be "right" at our expense. Our government was formed to protect us and our freedoms, and we got way off track somewhere down the line. Our country has been bought and sold by businessmen, and we all get to suffer the consequences. We live in a time where we have the technology to solve many of our problems, but instead it is turned against us. At the end of the day we really can't do anything about President Trump; those gears are already turning. What we can do is have understanding for your neighbors and hope that they will have the same understanding for you; even though some won't. Have respect for each other; our enemies want to see us divided because then we are considerably weaker. This too, I feel is something else the President doesn't seem to understand.

These fools running around talking about jobs, economy numbers--NONE of that means Jack To Millions of Americans, because it's like you said, We make that sacrifice!! I have a great career, but I didn't see any increase, nor did I see any decrease in consumer products. We wouldn't need all these "jobs", if we all pulled together, just like the people that built what we have now. They would be Appalled as to what this country has become, the hard work they did--for nothing!! Work we have done--for nothing!!! We cannot continue down the same roads, and expect different results...that's called Insanity!!
