Knife Making - Unusual Machete from a Bearing
[EN]
I forged a bearing into a kukri style machete. Bearing steels are REALLY hard ! The forging process was easy, since i just straightened the bearing and didn’t forge the blade in to shape. The stock removal way was easier and more precise.
I tried anodizing this time, because i want to anodize some parts on a future project (a damascus steel katana), and this one was a test. Anodizing is pretty simple, but as a first timer i made all the mistakes possible. Aluminium is much harder than titanium (which gets anodized instantly and very easily) to do.
I also tried a « toxification » finish on the blade, because i was not able to get my bevel grind as perfect as i wanted it. SO i had to cheat, once again !
I hope you enjoyed the video, let me know your thoughts and ideas in the comments !
