New Delhi, India | March, 2022: This is fourth in the series of videos where I am exploring areas around Connaught Place in Central Delhi.
In this episode we start walking from the G-block of Connaught Place in the outer circle and take a turn onto Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg along which we keep walking until we reach the historic Gol Market building right in the middle of this road. As we explore the area around this iconic place we notice the colonnaded commercial spaces that were built around the same time as the main Gol Market building.
We take two left turns from their in order to start moving back towards Connaught Place. But while on our way we get pleasantly distracted by the sight of a beautiful Bougainvillea and take a slight detour. Eventually we get back on track and keep walking towards Connaught Place to eventually join Shaheed Bharat Singh Marg again. We notice that right next to this road was the Baba Kharag Singh Marg named after another famous India freedom fighter. By placing these two road names right next to each other, just as both these legends were working alongside each other for India Independence for some time, someone in the administration definitely took the right decision.
Our walk ends at the G-block of Connaught Place from where we just leisurely walk along the outer circle road against the traffic for some time. As the sun sets over Central Delhi, we then drive away into the darkness of Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Tolstoy Road.
