The 13th of September, 2020.
Kansas City, Missouri, is renown for its jazz and barbeque in addition to sadistic weather conditions half the year otherwise. Currently in the good weather portion, we sought out on a Sunny Sunday Afternoon in pandemic times, September 2020 to see if we could locate some of this City's soul.
We ended up walking around the River Market. This area is one of the oldest in the city's history. Though we did not end up partaking in barbeque, we did hear one lone jazz player on a sidewalk single-handedly struggling to keep everything alive with a wafting horn. The walk could be considered pleasant, and the very few remaining late-1800s beautiful, warm brick buildings made it far more so, until weather conditions progressed to be hotter than blazes.
Count Basie and his Orchestra accompaniment (1965) from the BBC educational airing. Clips of the following songs: "All of Me," "I Needs to Be Beed With," "Lil Darlin,'" and "Whirly Bird"
