The April 1990 issue of the bimonthly video news program for Westrail staff, which contains six stories. Begins with the launch of Westrail's electrification safety campaign for primary school children and features its animated mascot, Maggs. The XY wagon, a new freight wagon designed and built in Westrail's Midland workshop is looked at. The XY is a dual purpose wagon designed to haul mineral sands from Muchea to Kwinana and backload coal from Collie. An update is then given on progress of the electrification of Perth's rail system including testing the effects of train lights on motorist’s eyes on the Freeway at night and the new suburban rail car bogies being built. The results of a viewer’s survey on the Westrail news video are discussed and the Kwinana industrial expo and Westrail's participation in it is looked at.
