An issue of a bimonthly video news program (June 1990) for Westrail railway staff. In this edition we look at the 'switch-on' ceremony for Perth's first electric rail service, the Perth-Armadale line, and also an update on the Northern Suburbs rail service which has moved into the design phase. Next we cover the annual rifle butt burning from confiscated and recovered rifles that Westrail performs for the police at its Midland workshop and next the restoration and six-month rebuild of a 100 year old rail coach recovered from Babbage Island off the coast of Carnarvon in Western Australia. Finally, the handover of a Vice Regal rail coach to the Railway Historical Society in Bassendean, near Perth is covered.
