Great video and tips. Thank you. I wasn't aware of the dominant eye test. Appreciate the insight. Jane

So much to take onboard........ I have shot XBox for many years and also shoot clay, but archery is something completely new to me. I have joined the NFAS and plan to shoot with the club at Bisley. I have had one quick introduction with the club and based on the result, I have been out and bought a Samic Sage starter kit which contains most everything to get started. I have bought two sets of limbs, #25 & #35 in the hope that I can grow into the bow. I have quite a short draw length (26.5") and the box really does seem to fit me well, but I know I have an awful lot to learn, so as I enter into retirement, I am hoping for a new reason to get out and enjoy shooting with great company, bot to mention the All day breakfast at the end 😅. I am slowly getting through your video's and can I just say they are great, so much so they have earned you another sub......

Wow not one person has ever said about eye dominants, yet never include that to why you shouldn't buy a bow before the course. I have a right handed bow yet I'm left eye dominant. Tried shooting left handed because my first bow was ambidextrous because i didn't know what i would be comfortable with because i have a busted left colour bone, and find it uncomfortable pulling back with my left arm..my course starts soon so I'll have to explain this. But can you explain in text how to aim being right handed but left dominant eye.

The trick is to draw the string to the left side of nose. Its a bit awkward at first, but with plenty of practice you can do it.

Sorry i just got back to watching youre video on how to test knock height etc using just paper..and thankyou so much, ive been looking for this answer and never found it until now. I also have a left eye condition that i need to get sorted so im kind of forced to use right eye anyway. I will practice this method. You are a great teacher, alot of what ive watched on your channel you wont see in 99% of other's. Great job sir.@@thebarebowbrummie

@@thebarebowbrummie Ps did my course and it was ok maybe i should of wrote intermediate though, as they taught only the very basic stuff that i already knew. But apparently my form was good, for a "bigginer" only issue i sometimes did was lean too forward, so now before i shoot I'm very away to have a straight back. Would love to have lessons from you, you just have that way about you that i find relaxing lol.

Hello there. Ive got a queston.. Ive been doing some archery years ago, but never been a club member. And back then ive been shooting only tradition bows ( flat bows) I now rediscovered archery and a new ( for me) way of shootng - thumb draw , slavic draw and been practicing for a few months now , so here comes my question: would I be alowed to use my bow and shoot thumb draw at the beginners course? And are thumb draw shooters welcomed in your club? Thank you subscribed :)

Hi, thank you for your support. As far as I am aware most clubs start their beginners on recurve bows (we certainly do) simply because it's by far the most popular and the easiest to pick up quickly. After your course you are free to choose whichever style you want. At my club we welcome all shooting styles with the exception of crossbow.

What i find strange is in competition they deem it as a release aid thus not allowed in most competitive archery, always seemed abit odd to me because it doesn't effect the aim as such, i mean its not a cheat sheet just a Mongolian technique. It's not like the tab rule of marking the tab for distance.
