Thanks mate, the F005 is the better knife but also significantly more expensive. As they are both so dirt cheap though no point in not paying a little extra. Thanks for watching mate. All the best

Excellent review! They both seem decent so both get my vote. That's awesome that after six months they are in great condition still. Thanks for sharing, take care brother!

They are pretty robust, they also aren't the only knives I have been using so that probably explains the good condition too. Thanks for watching Kirk, hope you had a good Christmas.

I wanted to know for a long time if it's possible to use a ferrorod with any of those knives. I've been searching a lot with no results. I finally find the answer. Thank you very much for this complete review.

The 005 looks like the best bushcraft, scandi ground blade, for 35 euros. Full tang, D2, scandi grind, coca cola bottle shaped micarta, comfortable, 4mm thick and sort of a decent sheath. Not necessarily good or bad, is that its slightly reminiscent of the LT Wright GNS. Thanks for the detailed review.

They could all do with a dangler for me. I've been thinking of getting the d2 one, but now they have come up with a couple of new designs, so I'm still not too sure which to get 😮..god bless. . Lee

A dangler is something that can be quite easily added on or customised. I have just bought a castrom one (with my Joker knives in mind). But also quite simple to attach pretty much anything to a kydex sheath. I haven't looked at the Brother page recently. The last time they had something new that I was thinking of getting. The prices just make them so tempting. Thank you very much for watching and for taking the time to comment. Hope you have a fantastic weekend.

D2 is really good cheaper steel but man I always have a hard time getting it sharp again on my work sharp system. Weird with the snap on the one, thats how the junky nylon sheath is on my one old buck knife. I really want a leather sheath for that knife as its excellent for mushroom hunting but the profile is so odd it makes it hard to find anything that will fit it. Yea I could probly make my own but that would not turn out well im sure haha. Lets see I dont care for kydex, I like the size and profile of the non d2 knife more. That last leather sheath is a beast!!! Awesome in depth review mate!

I am sure you could make a sheath. It's not so difficult. You could also get one that's a bit big and wet form it (unless it's kydex😂). Always a dilemma to know how long to do this kind of video and how much depth to go into. I think 20 minutes is a bit on the long side. Have I seen the Buck, pretty sure I have is it really narrow? I have some factory second sheaths (Finnish puukko sheaths of course) that might work. I get them for next to nothing. Maybe I could send you one. It would have to wait until I get back to Finland of course.

Yep its an older video and that buck has a very very long narrow blade profile so finding anything it will fit in is always a crapshoot lol. It came with a junky nylon sheath(some are ok this one was bad haha). I wouldn't want you wasting money though so we would have to be sure it fit. I would have to measure the width of the blade and its length for ya sometime ok. No rush whatsoever. I actually did wet form one sheath but its too wide for anything and the leather was reallllly crap cheap stuff lol. I dont think it was overly long either mate(your video), your subscribers who value your videos wont care...at least I dont plus beasley loves hearing and seeing "uncle tim" lol. Take care my friend

Ordered my 005 yesterday for 28 pound. Im happy with d2 after getting the real steel for 70 pound. Its been better than my garberg in stainless and retained an edge longer. Have to say d2 is really something

I have heard a lot of people complaining about D2, I belive it depends a lot on the heat treatment. The steel on the 005 seems excellent. Holds an edge just great. It really is an excellent knife for the money. I am sure you will be very happy with your purchase. Thanks for watching mate.

@@KuukkeliBushcraft D2 is complained about when treated like an axe, holy trinity come to mind people on youtube like to smash knives through 4/5'' logs when they should have an axe

Thanks for the paper cutting tip. Not something that I would normally do if it wasn't for youtube. And thank you very much for watching. Maybe one of us could do a video comparing papers and seeing what paper is better for cutting on KZitem videos😂. All the best buddy, hope you are keeping well.

Pourquoi vous ne faite pas de test de batonage sur du bois sec,en montrant ensuite l état du tranchant ?
@KuukkeliBushcraft

You are right, I probably should have done. It was already a 20 minute video though. Just so as you know I have battoned with both of these knives with no edge problems. Most of the wood we have up here is on the softer side though and I do generally try to avoid knots. Thanks for watching and for the suggestion.

I have several of these Chinese knives, the brother 005 and the real steel bushcraft, both are amazing for the price, but how can one tell if the steel is really D2?
@KuukkeliBushcraft
Жыл бұрын
I believe both are D2 as in I guess so. I am pretty sure a good percentage of the knives on Ali express aren't the steel that they say they are. With Brother knives both of the ones I have seem to have the kind of edge retention that I would expect and neither 440c or D2 are exactly high end steels. As for Real Steel I think they are a big enough company to care about their reputation enough not to lie about the steel they use. My guess would be that both knives are D2 or at least very close. I have no way of testing and no way of being certain. I also have both knives and am happy with them no matter what the steel is. Thanks for watching buddy.

That makes good sense. I was trusting their reputation when I purchased the knives and that sometimes is all we have to rely on, and I agree, they are very good knives. thanks for the videos.

Which knife would you recommend, a joker or a brother
@KuukkeliBushcraft
7 ай бұрын
@ilanakali1030 That depends on how much you want to spend 😂. I much prefer Joker knives but Brother offer amazing value for money. Joker too are good value for money. But do you want to pay 3 times the price for a tool that will do the same job, nearly as well. The steel on the Jokers is better in my experience. The sheaths nicer and just better knives, but for more money.

Personally I would go for the F005 unless you hade something special in mind. It's a fantastic knife for the money. The only thing I am not too keen on is the sheath. Glad you liked the video Matt. Thanks for the support.
