Working up a sweat can actually help you live longer. Research has shown that periodically raising your body temperature strengthens the body similar to the way the hormetic stress of exercise and fasting do, and can help reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, hypertension and all cardiac death. Controlled body temperature elevation can have positive cardiovascular effects and may help dilate blood vessels, lower blood pressure, and improve blood flow, potentially reducing the risk of heart-related issues.
Those benefits can be further improved when stacking regular exercise with infrared sauna use.
Wellness Mama founder Katie Wells spoke with Sunlighten co-founder Connie Zack about how regular sauna use can help improve heart health while providing additional benefits, such as detoxing from toxic chemicals in the body and alleviate anxiety and depression.
