Regarding cortisol and sleep I just started carnivore about 2 weeks ago, I have had really high stress and poor interrupted sleep as long as I can remember, a few days into carnivore and I began going to sleep quickly, easily, and peacefully and staying asleep all night! It's unheard of for me and I can't believe it. Additionally I have feelings of well being throughout the day. It's worth it just for the sleep and the peace, the only thing concerning me is the women's hormones aspect, so I'm really glad I found this video. Thank you!

Zero sugar, low carb and IF helped me to have clearer skin, better sleep, less asthma attacks, lost weight, regularized my period and made it lighter. It also removed my cramping during my period. I will never go back to eating high carb. I usually eat less than 50 grams a day of carbs. There are days I eat zero carb. This is my lifestyle now. I won't change it for anything anymore. So 3.5 weeks ago I went full carnivore and within 3 days I had energy! My tumours have shrunk, no more blood sugar crashes, no more pain, no more fatigue, i sleep through the night, my skin is no longer red and inflamed. Not even 1 month in and my body is healing. Thank you Dr. Saladino for introducing Dr. Jaime Seeman to a wider audience. She is such a wealth of knowledge. When I talk about my tremendous weight loss success, using keto/IF, I get some resistance from women since they think that my experiences with keto/IF are not transferable to women. Now that you have brought to my attention the work of Dr. Seeman, I can point to her as an example of a woman who is not only a knowledgeable physician, but who uses keto in her own life, and is the embodiment of fitness.

My cycles didn't become irregular (except for one month when I was very stressed), but I experienced way stronger pms symptoms on carnivore. I mean all of my pms symptoms have gotten worse as I've gotten older (I'm 35), but when I started the diet, I was all out of whack while on it and for a month after I stopped. Emotions off the charts. I was in a low place for about twice as long as it used to be. I couldn't seem to snap out of it. My breasts were also much more painful for longer. My sex drive (and my husband's) also tanked. I really don't think carnivore was good for us.

Yes, my doctor checked my TSH after my perimenopause weight gain. He didn't check the others. So the "pillow" on my stomach was created by my body trying to get what it needed in estrogen. This makes a lot of sense looking at my own journey. Now I am equipped to go forward. Thank you so much for this gift!!

I highly recommend it! Been doing carnivore for 4 months, been doing ruminants only 2 week (ruminants only is by far the best, imo.) And a totally unexpected result was my periods changing, was not my aim at all but it was so nice. My whole life I've had 2 week, painful, horrible, heavy cramps for all my life. It would always hurt so much I dreaded my periods every month. On carnivore? 4 day periods, no pain, light blood flow, the blood is also a lot better looking too, not heavy deep red and then darker, grayer red near the end. Never expected it, it was so awesome.

One thing I will say is mold toxicity it’s actually not rare 50% of buildings in the United States are water damaged and 25% of the population has the potential to develop mold toxicity or chronic inflammatory response syndrome I lived in a house filled with high levels of toxic mold for three years I followed the ketogenic diet my symptoms were frequent urination excessive thirst chronic fatigue I lost my ability to do cardio for more than 12 minutes at a time I had memory loss and difficulty with word finding. These were just a few of my symptoms. I had low MSH I had high TGF-beta one. I would encourage anyone dealing with these symptoms and possibly more to look up the clusters for chronic inflammatory response syndrome if you have 6 to 8 clusters there is a high chance that you have Cirs. This illness has nothing to do with diet. Like i said I was on the ketogenic diet During the entire duration of my illness I didn’t understand why keto was not working for me and why I wasn’t getting better. I was getting worse and I did not get better until I went on the Shoemaker protocol and I took the prescription drug cholestyramine for two months after I moved out of my house and into a house that was mold free. I am now able to exercise. I am back to lifting weights and setting PR’s I am back to doing cardio the frequent urination the excessive thirst is gone the extreme fatigue is gone. Diet cannot treat or cure Cirs. It may help Some symptoms but ultimately most people need to go on either choleystyramine or welchol. Dr Neil Nathan has a book Toxic which addresses treatment. It’s very informative.

I have a question, don't know how to get it to Dr Saladino, don't know if anyone has some ideas or experience to that regard......I'd like to start a carnivore diet due to some health issue to see how it goes (like alergy, knee ache and a little bit of extra pounds, a desire not to feel hungry all the time, but forget about food and calories....and some other possible benefits)...but....I do not know is it ok to start a diet and be on it for, let's say six weeks, then eat something else (my question is, what to eat when not on carnivore diet), then start again....the reason is that I fast every Wednesday and Friday plus four long lent periods during the year (from two weeks to seven weeks) when I do not eat oil, fat or any other animal product....Would it not be good for the body to go on and off the carnivore and what to eat when off the diet? Anyone has an answer? Thank you :))

Dr. Saladino, do you have any cohort studies to share on the carnivorous diet? I don’t know if you have formal training in nutrition, but as a Medical Doctor, I’m sure you understand that cohort studies are the most robust findings we have when it comes to nutrition as it pertains to chronic illness and longevity. For that reason, I’m curious why you always rely on lower level research instead of showing us long-lived carnivores cohorts.

Fabulous discussion....on my favourite topic hormones :-) I would like you to chat about the Randle Cycle and perhaps being less extreme with the carnivore/ketogenic diet, but eliminating the worst effects of carbohydrates by perhaps always eating them separately from protein/fat and perhaps even on different days, so the body is not constantly in ketosis. I think the reality is most people will LONG TERM find this diet too strict.....so how can the average person mitigate most of the risk from consuming too much carbohydrate the majority of the time as in the SAD diet.

By the end of the third month it had risen to 161/84 and my doctor finally said enough, you need to go on meds which I reluctantly did. I've been on the meds (lowest dose) for 2 weeks and BP won't go down, so he'll increase dosage next visit. I have no idea why this is happening since the opposite is usually true for those that go on Keto. I'm so sick of all the symptons that I am experiencing, that I started Carniore 4 days ago, as an elimination diet to help my body heal from the craziness I seem to be experiencing. It's hard when your doctor knows Jack about nutrition & thinks your crazy for entertaining this diet. I can only imagine what he'll think when I tell him I'm Carnivore LOL I hope my BP starts to go down and my body responds to the Carnivore diet in a positive way.

No doctor should EVER say that one diet will work the same on everybody. Find a different doctor that will do everything to keep you off meds. You have choices when it comes to your Healthcare provider. We have insurance for emergency medicine but we pay out of pocket for our general Healthcare to go to a naturopath because regular doctors have failed my family.
