Hey Cole, my wife and I practice with your videos daily, I have been "sober" since 2004 and society is so misinformed about addiction and that causes so much pain and keeps so many in the downward spiral. Stay strong, love your videos and your Yoga training!

One of the techs at the rehab I went to always said, secrets keep you sick. That is something that has stuck with me and not just in regard to addiction. Living honestly is the most freeing thing you can do. I am so happy I found your channel. I see your heart and I love it.

Hey Cole, Don't abandon yourself when you need you the most. Loved that, I have written it down and put it on mirror. Slipping and sliding has been my story this past 16 months. Thankfully, they have only lasted a day or two till I was back. Also forgive yourself and not be so hard on yourself. We will conqure this. Love and Light, Namaste......

Fantastic wisdom in this little 15 minute video! I think even professional counselors sometimes treat relapse as something that should be punished...I feel that is TOTALLY the wrong outlook, that will only encourage a deeper dive into the relapse and possibly and spiral out of control. Great advice Cole!

@@pamsunshine9233 thanks for your reply Pam. I'm fortunate to be introverted and highly sensitive by nature so Ive had a lifetime of preferring my own company .However, now at this stage I want to step out of my parotective habits and meet new people maybe a partner, its a big hill to climb. In the past pot has been my way of numbing my over active brain and served as a 'friend 'almost' in my aloneness. When I look at Coles success, how shes quit drinking, travelled the world and now has a great career and a loving partner, its a painful reminder of how Im struggling and how far I have to go.I think I was upset because I dont let myself feel how much this addiction has robbed me of my ability to move forward. Im pretty self aware so I realize all change start somewhere,I know I have to create things to fill the void and keep me distracted. Not sure if you have a similar struggle ?

Oh my goodness, Cole! This is exactly what I needed to hear today. I’ve been sober for 11 years and I relapsed recently. I started drinking and smoking pot regularly the last couple months. Today I realized what I’ve been doing and talked to my wife about it. I said all those things and felt all the shame. I needed to hear this, it’s not all lost, I just need to get back on the path!!! Thank you 🙏

I have this ugly habit that when I relapse I'll cut my eyebrow badly or do something to make myself ugly. It's bizarre I hate it. Hadn't done it in months and did it today after I smoked during work and felt the guilt/distracted mind. I thought I finally beat this behavior.

Our behaviors run deep. Often it takes quite a bit to shift them for a long term. Try care. Trying tending to yourself as well….you’ve it sounds like the shame route isn’t working 😢 (I tried that for a long time too!) it’s hard AND it’s possible

I think it's about finding a good balance (which is hard) of knowing that yes, release is possible so to stay close to practices and support that is helpful AND being able to fully live in your new life without all the stress! Be aware it's possible but don't let the fear run you, just keep you aware! Hope that helps
