The weapon showcased in this video is the Chung Qiu Dadao (春秋大刀 - Chūnqiū dàdāo). This means Spring Autumn Broadsword (or Big Sword). It’s also often called the Pudao 朴刀 (or sometimes podao)
I filmed the first performance of the Dadao form up on Wudang Mountain in China at a hidden school across from the Purple Heaven Temple. We were invited that day to participate in a private demo for some European VIP tourists.
It was a beautiful day and the demo was a lot of fun to watch and film.
The second form was filmed during our weekly performance day at the school. We perform for the other students and master Yuan and get his feedback.
