Hey buddy. You are correct on the DR44 Alt. I just dealt with this yesterday. Completed an engine build for a customer and had it on the run stand not expecting it to charge in fact I wasn't even thinking about it to be honest, but out of habit I did hook up the main charge wire on the back of the alternator simply because my run stand is setup to reflect the engine being under the hood and it caught me by surprise when I looked at my instrument panel and it was charging at a solid 13.8v with absolutely nothing plugged into the exciter plug or whatever you want to call it. just thought I would share that in hopes it helps ya out!

That was amazing job of your explanations of what you've done so far. I love how clean wiring job you did! Sure OCD can do that to you! It did to me lol. I love how laid wiring sits! Brilliant 👏 this is best video so far! I was so engaged and understanding how you did and thought process! I have to give it 100/100 rating! Well done, LT! I look forward to next video! Many thumbs up 👍

Loving the build LT. I’ve been following along closely since you started the big block build in Ugly Truck and really enjoy the videos however the amount of ads lately (every 2-5 minutes last few videos) are almost making these unwatchable for me. Keep up the quality content man!

LT Great work. Only thing I see as a potential issue is the Terminator X isn't a water tight ecu. I would definitely recommend figuring out a way to run it into the cab.
@XxRaganxX2011
3 жыл бұрын
@John Doe hoping he sees my comment. I've heard of a few putting the ecu in the engine bay, but they ended up having to replace it and move it into the cab due to moisture getting to the ecu and frying it.

Well, after I get it back from LT I'll definitely look into relocating it, ultimately I would like to move all of the electrical equipment into the cabin.

Eh, one thing of note....that Terminator X is not heat or water resistant. Mounting in the engine compartment is not recommended. I am sure by now the customer has figured this out. Both the Dominator as well as the HP I believe are both rated to live in that environment, but not the Terminator.

Those zip tie thingies are often a mistake, especially on an off road vehicle that actually goes off road. They will either fail entirely or allow the cooler to move around enough to wear a hole in something.

@@LawrenceTolman better to have the alternator stock especially a trail rig as you might need to pick up a new one at a parts store, better to have it plug and play and not have every alternator modified.

Instead of going through the whole mess of hose and simplicity of a smaller and cleaner look with the PCV, it would be much easier to swap out the passenger side rocker cover with the LS7 one...JMO.

This has got me wanting to swap my 02 wj but mine would be far simpler 350 small block sm465 4 speed and haft to make a decision on transfer case would definitely make brackets to retain my ac but other wise nice and simple she's a wheeler I bought at auction runs really good but the trans is not feeling good at all she has 1st and some other foward gear only shifts when your feeding her the onions and it really boggs down and she has not even a hint of go backward left in her I still RIP around init threw my woods and all over the property oh yeah and zero brakes lol those are optional has heated leather tho

LT, why don't you ask the customer to let you replace the passenger door handle so you don't have to leave it partially open all the time? The handles are super cheap ~$20 and only takes a little over 1/2 hour to replace. Working doors make life easier haha.

@@jimmyburks7030 Nice, sounds like a plan. I just did both the driver side front and driver side rear exterior door handles in my '89 XJ. All the stupid little rods going through the inside of the door make working on them a pain. It's almost inevitable that I end up getting cut up on the razorsharp door sheetmetal too, hard to see what you are working on.

@LawrenceTolman

I guess it depends on your goals for the truck. The 6.2 doesn't do much for me even if its running like brand new, if it were my truck I'd absolutely install a big block.
