Ken Clark was a Beast! Sad that he is no longer with us. He was one of my favorite players. Several of these runs were truly amazing! I still think if he hadn't gotten injured he would have had a huge senior year. I hope that the Huskers have a kid in the Bull Pen like him. Irvin is out for the season again, and so it will be interesting to see what Redshirt Freshman Emmet Johnson and True Freshman Kwinten Ives are able to do. Both had huge numbers in High-school. Not real big guys, but very fast.

All I remember about Ty Knox is the fumble in the Fiesta bowl in the fourth quarter at the 2 yard line against Florida State .The Seminoles recovered and took the ball 98 yards to score the winning touchdown . I can remember that the Huskers had some offensive line that year and a mediocre defense but two defensive ends that could rush the QB. Neil Smith and Tim Rother

That was an awesome run by Clark that was called back for the touchdown and he would have scored on the previous play if he hadn't slipped. And this with a bum ankle after about his 5th carry of the game. His second touchdown run. Man he would have had a fourth if not for the holding call. He really plowed through that defense and stayed on his feet.

1:51 Huge run for a TD by Ken Clark on Nebraska's first offensive play of the game. 5:53 Steve Taylor initially makes good yardage on a QB keeper, but then makes a beautiful late pitch to a streaking Ken Clark for big yards. Followed at 6:13 by a reverse to Richard Bell for a big gain. 9:38 Steve Taylor breaks a long TD run on a QB keeper around end. 11:29 43-yard scramble for a TD by Steve Taylor.

Somebody said no elite talent? Huh? That's 4.54 electronic 40 time/4.34 hand-held for Steve Taylor. At the time he was the fastest QB we had ever had. Although that's since been surpassed, the speed on this team was unreal. Bell was 4.31, Carperter was 4.36 and the fastest player on the team in the 10 yard dash. Clark was 4.39, his back up Knox was an incredible 4.22 and Knox was 220 pounds at least. These kids were literally slow pokes in comparison to Jr Wingback Dana Brinson at a blistering 4.17 and I-Back Terry Rogers before he blew out his knee at 4.18. Don't tell me that the Huskers didn't have elite talent on that team. Granted Taylor was a Running-Back playing quarterback. Much like Jeff Sims is now.
