Alan King speaks with a command in his voice. Great storyteller. The way he spoke, he really gave life to his stories, that enthusiasm, and he spoke with great speed. There was a rhythm to these older comics and a feisty-ness. These are missing today.

Two of Alan's brothers are/ were doctors. He does a great skit about it. Alan was hospitalized and under the care of his brother. Alan's parents show up and the rest is hysterical. This sketch was great... we can all relate and that was the beauty of King's comedy.

And all his brothers know among their colleagues in the medical profession are "top men." Mom's got headaches? "I know a guy. A top man!" This top man examines Mom, and says the headaches can be cured if her teeth are taken out. So she takes out her dentures. "Top man!"

@@UncleMikeNJ LOL yes. In the skit I'm speaking of Alan was hospitalized for exhaustion in NYC. He didn't want his parents to know so as not to cause them worry. When his parents found out and came to the hospital, his Mother began smacking his younger brother ( the doctor) for not calling them. All of the sudden his brother turned into a 10 yr old getting punished. lol So much for the big time doctor when his MOM showed up. Hysterical. I'm sure it's somewhere on YT and well worth the watch. :o)

@@UncleMikeNJ So true... you never mess with MOM without consequences no matter how old you are. As an adult, my son would catch hell from me for not letting me know he was in the house, hence startling me. Damn kid could have been a cat burglar he is that light on his feet. We have 3 entrances to our downstairs hallway and I literally bumped into him bc we used the same one. Scared me so much I pummeled and cursed him out as he slid down the wall, weak with laughter. I knew right there and then I didn't hit him enough growing up. lol He's now 47 and still loves to yank my chain. I'll bet Alan's mother never had that issue. lol :o)
