Healthy and tasty breakfast treat in all parts of India, poha is made differently in different regions.
Here, I have made poha using brown rice poha which is even more healthier than the regular white poha without sacrificing the taste. Please enjoy this poha recipe, like, share and subscribe to my channel.
Brown Rice Kanda Batata Poha Recipe :
Ingredients :
2 Cups Brown Rice Poha
Salt To Taste
1/4 + 1/4 Tsp. Turmeric
1/2 + 1/4 Tsp Red Chili Powder
1/2 Lime or Lemon Juice
1 Tbsp Sugar
2 Tbsp Oil
1/4 Tsp Mustard Seeds
1/4 Tsp Cumin Seeds
1/3 Cup Raw Peanuts or Cashews
6 Curry Leaves
2 Green Chilies
1/4 Tsp Asafoetida
1 Cup Chopped Onions
1/2 Cup Diced Potatoes
1/2 + 1/4 Cup Water
Sev & Coriander for Garnishing
Method Of Making Brown Rice Kanda Batata Poha :
1. Wash 3 times and drain poha.
2. Add salt, turmeric, chili powwder, lime juice and sugar.
3. Mix well and keep until tadka is ready.
4. Take a large pan and turn on medium heat.
5. Add oil, mustard, cumin and let it splatter.
6. Add Peanuts and roast until golden.
7. Remove peanuts and keep aside.
8. Add curry leaves, green chilies and asafetida.
9. Add onions and sauté one minute.
10. Add salt, potatoes and water.
11. Add turmeric and chili powder. Mix well.
12. Cover and cook 7 to 8 minutes stirring once or twice in between.
13. When potatoes are well cooked add prepared poha and sprinkle water.
14. Stir gently, cover and cook 4 to 5 minutes.
15. Fluff poha and add peanuts.
16. Serve with sev, coriander and lemon wedge.
Enjoy perfectly fluffed and delicious poha.
