That's the right way to look at it! I think I'll re-seed and start again! :-)

Spinach is very high in oxylates which cause kidney disease and failure. I would never grow spinach.

Totally agree! I have more seeds so I can do this! Who knows, maybe I'll have enough season to do it 3 times. We'll see. :-) Thanks for the advice!

May I ask what you would recommend for spacing tomatoes

Well...I'd definitely space them further apart than I did. (haha) There are 2 different types of tomatoes: 1) Determinant - Which means they have a determined height that they grow. 2) Indeterminant - Which means they continue to grow taller if given a structure or line to help hold them up as they grow. Indeterminant plants grow up more than they grow out. So you can plant them a little closer together (around 24 inch spacing or less). Humidity is usually what breeds disease, so they need proper airflow to help keep them healthy. Determinant...like what I have, grow out like a bush. They need more spacing apart from each other, possibly 3 feet of space. Now I could prune them back some, but I have chosen NOT to do that as an experiment. Not saying it's the right way, it's simply my way of growing them this year. We'll see what benefits or challenges I see. :-) Thanks for the comment
