Wonderful. I never appreciated Liberace when he was alive. Hearing him play, hearing him do variations, it is as if playing the piano for him is as effortless as breathing. I have such respect for him now.

I think it's amazing how he can so easily move from one style of playing to another in the tempo. the harmony and the body language. Love him.

He had a nice touch and could play arpeggios beautifully- this piece shows his skills off well.

In the past few weeks, I have found myself drawn to the distinct sound of Liberace!! There will be no other. Thank you for sharing these fine pieces of work with those of us who are not as fortunate to have seen him televised or live!!! We miss you Liberace!!!

Well I did see him televised in the '50s but everything about him and his music went way over my head then.

I always love Liberace when he does variations on a theme. This was particularly enjoyable because most of this number was just Liberace by himself, until he invited George and friends on at the end. One other observation: The trembling turkey crouching beside the axe was a hilarious nod to television in the 1950's! Thanks, Showmanlee!

Never was a huge fan of piano, but huge fan of boogie woogie. Amazing how this guy could take something like Turkey in the Straw and make it very entertaining. This is great! What a talent he was.

+Christopher Kelly The old anecdote goes; A young man told the concert pianist, "I would give my life to play like you!" The pianist replied, "I did" Everything has a price.

He must've done some serious daily practice to maintain that technique throughout his life. Wish he'd done this more often (senza turkey) - taken a tune and made up his own variations.

Not quite the way Billy Golden (who passed away in 1926) would have envisioned it when he recorded Turkey In The Straw in 1891 (and by that time, the song had already been around for more than sixty years). Professor Liberace's variations on that theme of course took it to the next level, making the thought of a Golden/Liberace summit meeting all the more intriguing.

I wish Liszt would have made a rhapsody based on this theme or something. I know he would do something amazing with this cartoonish theme!
